I take 320mg of geodon, 30 mg of adderall 2x a day, 20 mg of lexapro, 1mg klotopin 2x aday, 200 mg of lyrica, and 15 mg of restoril. Does this seem like an awful lot to anyone?

i started writing mine out to see what they looked like:
300 Wellbutrin, 400 topamax (200 2x a day), 400 Lamictal (200 2x a day), .5 Klonipin, ,5 Ativan, 20 Inderal, 10 Ambien, 4 Zanaflex I just stopped taking Seroquel with that. inderal was just added. So no, yours don't seem like an awful lot. I think there are people on here taking way more than either of us, and people taking less. Meds are prescribed on a very individualized basis. What's good for me may not be good for any other person in the exact same dosages. It's not like baking where recipes have to be exact. |

Here are the psych meds I am on
Depakote ER 1500mg Seroquel 100mgt 2x and 400mg 1x Cymbalta 60mg Abilify 7.5mg 2x Klonopin .5mg 3x Other Meds Zocor 40mg Megace 40mg It is definitly true that no two people are alike as well it is with meds. Some people need more meds and some need less. It's just depends on your disorder and how bad you are feeling. Like a week ago I was on 2 more meds then I am on now because my pdoc is trying to lower my meds and get me off of some. |

I'm only on 3 meds right now, effexor (low dose), lamictal and klonopin, but I've been cycling lately (in a manic episode now) so my pdoc is going to try me on Lithium. I'm lucky to be on so few meds. That's probably going to change though.

I'm BP1 and on three meds: 200mg Lamictal, 30mg Abilify (a high dose) and Xanax as needed. If you're wondering abt the meds you're on, I'd take a list to your doctor (psychiatrist) and ask him what he thinks. You can make sure you haven't misunderstood his directions, for instance stopping one med when adding another. Or, if you're seeing both a family doc plus a psychiatrist, they may not be aware of what the other prescribed.

Sounds about right to me. I have seven meds and a buttload of supplements.

When I am not in the midst of a severe episode I take only ONE med, a mood stabilizer. I only take one med when not severe not because it works for me, but because I havent found any combo yet that really does work for me. I rapid cycle and continue to never really be in remission. It's pretty individual, I am also very sensitive to any meds including cough syrup so it's been a hard choice for me either way.

I would be concerned about the 320 mg of Geodon. I've taken it before and am in the process of switching from Trilafon to Geodon once again. I read that increases to doses greater than 80 mg twice daily is generally not recommended, so I think that would be a lot. Take care.

I'm also a rapid cycler, makes it a lot more difficult to get the right meds. And I'm also very sensitive to any medications. Back before I was diagnosed with BP1 I was just being treated for depression. My pdoc at the time must've tried 5 different meds b/c I'm so sensitive to drugs. By the time I found the right one, I felt like I had been through a ringer. |

Ok I'm laughing. You want to see meds. I will show you meds. Lithium, Lamictal, Klonipin, Ditropan ER, stuff to make my mouth water (forget the name), Plaquenil, stuff so my stomach won't cramp, Evista, thyroid hormome because of the lithium, Predisone (I'm being weaned off it), supplement for my eyes, prescription mouthwash for my mouth, blood pressure medicine and sleeping pill (low dose Ristoril). My regular doc put me on Calcium and Vitamin D for my osteoporosis (and Evista, too). I take a few supplements and now take Jack LaLane's new liquid multivitamin/mineral he developed before he passed. Got my husband on it, too. Oh, yeah, I forgot, I'm on 30 mg. Cymbalta. I can't do 60 mg. I am bipolar. But , her's something else I forgot. I have a script for my scalp psorasis that developed during the past 6 months. It's pitiful. In 2009 I think all I had wrong with me was my bipolar. And it was under control. Now it's the least of my worries. I see my pdoc for about 5 mins every 6 months or so for my meds and my therapst told me I was ok I didn't have to come back. I can't work anymore. I'm glad I got married again in 2009. Yes, this is the truth.
