So I was put on Lithium last Wednesday because nothing seems to be working for me to pull me out of this deep depression I have been in for the past year or so. My pdoc continued me on my two of my antidepressants. But I have been feeling a bit hypomanic. I was wondering if Lithium can cause my mood to change so drastically in such a short period of time. I know there is another thread out there on Lithium but any responses would be appreciated.

I found that lithium took 2 weeks to fully stabilize me.
Before I was on lithium, my pdoc changed my anti-depressant from an SSRI to a older tricyclic, at my request, and I became hypomanic. Then he put me on lithium, and it took 2 weeks for it to level out my moods. Hope this helps.
