Hey guys,

I am just curious as I have researched "Black and White Thinking" and well ye its me down to a T I will always find fault in something that is good. I am confused slightly though....

My question is

Can dreams/nightmares also be Black and White Thinking?

I have been having dreams/nightmares about death but not my own I actually don't know who's death it is btw. I have been forcing myself to stay awake so as not to sleep as I am worried this means I am gonna be more suicidal than I have been.

Any help would be muchly appreciated

Hey Protector1973,

Ye? I am so confused lol

I have been in depression since about Wednesday but been more in a mixed state. I have been feeling suicidal, generally blah and rubbish. I don't want to see people but have to force myself or people will ask questions.... only certain people know I am feeling this way and the people who should know I can't/haven't toold them.

You know when you feel just really mixed up and have no idea what to think or do?

Hey Protector1973,

No I kinda don't have any hobbies well apart from the internet. The only theraputic things I do is once a week Tai Chi and once every so often hot stone massage.

My work was my therapy in a sense along with my Volunteering. I use to like the gym but then that became an obsession ooops!!

For years I did knitting, crochet, needlepoint, cross stitch, anything to keep my hands busy. It did help. Now I have arthritis and can't do it anymore.
I recommend taking up a hobby, for example a granny square afghan. You can put the squares in your purse and take them everywhere you go.

I agree with the keeping hands busy idea. My grandmom used to say "Idle hands are the devil's workshop". lol. There are probably good places to donate handmade blankets, too, like babies or old people.

Ya like the NICU at hospitals, or the children's ward, or Children's hospitals. they do that. They did for my kids when they were there.

Black and white thinking is a Borderline trait...have you looked into the symptoms of being borderline. Yes I think dreams can be black and white. Most of the dreams I remember are nightmares, and are usually related to actual events in my life.

OMG! I'm not the only one like this!!!!! I have to find fault in EVERYTHING, or I don't feel satisfied that I put my 2 cents in! Wish I could find goodness instead of negative.

same here! My mind is crowded with negativity and all-or-nothing thinking which doesn't make me very good company sometimes.

Laura, come over and take a look at the Borderline forum. Read the stuff, and if you don't think it's a fit than okay...but it sounds like you at least should educate yourself on it. Just jump to the borderline forum on here.
