escapism...

I am writing this mostly for myself. from Roma termini cafe as I wait for train elsewhere.

yesterday i watch the people on bus to rome and wondered how many of them are on run. I manically breathed in austrian air on a night toilet stop. I was in heaven on another stop in italy on gas station, when I was trying to loosen my stiff neck (europe grows larger when travelled on a bus9 and italian guy told me i was beautiful. I ran around rome manically today... and now I am off to somewhere else, away from EU zone, one land where they still have blood vendetta... but where people still are humane deep inside their tough shell of survivors.

I wonder how many of people here on termini is on run. how many tourists in rome are merely escapists. I really do.

because I do escapism very well. Too bad i cannot put it down into my CV

wow, I can't imagine catching a bus to a different country... I love the way you write it makes me remember the rest of the world exists... as I sit here isolated in my little island....

really cool post, VH. I've probably been on the run since I left home 15 years ago. Things always catch up to me, though.

funny thing for me is that i am not going anywhere exactly new this time, just revisiting places. and they grew awesomer in my absence.

but oh I love in Italy. fallling in love with countries is probably as dumb as falling in love with people at random. But I cannot help it. Italy makes me happy. And it makes me sad when i think that I don't live there...

I can only imagine. In a way, it must bring people together. Different countries, different cultures. All turning their heads in a giant 'wtf?' Just by visiting, you show the people of the world that they are not so different after all. One giant bizarre leap for world peace.

Oh, and I don't think falling in love with a country is dumb. A random person would most likely reject you unless there just happened to be a shared attraction. You'd have to do quite a bit to get kicked out of the country though. You can also immerse yourself in and enjoy that country without being deemed a stalker. In fact, if you feel such a large draw towards it, maybe it's just the first step in finding your place in the world? <3

last night I was actually taken pictures off when sleeping. just because i slept on the ferry by a souvenir shop, in fetal position between all my possessions... hey, it's called the deck ticket and it's how we cool travelers go.

but, yeah, when i walk down tirana's street people think "where did that appear from?". I wonder about it too... what am I doing here? pushing the limits a bit? seeking adventure? learning to appreciate treats of the west?

Venus, I have to tell you that I find you very funny and humorous in such a good way. I love to read whatever you put out on here. You actually brighten my day and make me smile.

I just realized I am a terrible ***** when it comes to countries. Two days ago I would sell my soul for Italy... and now I wish to turn myself into eagle women and live more simply somewhere in Albania... at least it's warm here...

but oh, this country makes me THINK. It is so intense.
