Has anyone seen a signficant change in mood when they exercise? It seems to help me, but I'm wondering how this effects others...

Exercise has a very positive effect on me, it's an important part of my recovery. It takes my mind off of negative thoughts, changes my body for the better, and boosts my self-esteem. There are days when I want to do anything BUT exercise, but usually I force myself because I always feel better afterwards. When I don't do any physical activity for the day, I feel down and depressed usually.

For sure, for sure, foreverbp. If I low, it brings me up. If I'm high, its a fantastic way to burn all that extra energy. Either way, the results help me feel better about myself and my appearance. With all the self-esteem issues i had growing up and still deal with, this can be the difference between feeling ok and being depressed.
My main form of exercise was always weightlifting

Exercise is great for my mood. Exercise releases endorphins in your brain which gives you a general feeling of well-being.

It helps my mood improve so much and also relieves a lot of stress.

I wish I could get motivated to exercise because I do feel better when I work out. But alas, my butt loves its chair too much.

Yup, it's good. I'm partial to walking. (I don't "work out" per se, because a) I don't like it and b) I wouldn't stick with it.)

I too find exercise to be helpful and when I feeling very unmotivated, if I have a shred of motivation I apply it to exercise because that tend to increase my motivation.

Exercise really lifts my mood when I am low but that's when its hardest to do Trying to make it a habit on my days off so that it is easier to do when I need it.

Yes, exercise is very helpful for me when I am both down and hypo-manic. For the same reasons. It lifts my mood when I am depressed and helps me burn off the extra energy when I am manic.....
