I think learning coping skillzzz and self-discovery will help regardless the label.

There is enough stigma in the world without us having to deal with it here as well.
Well said joannasouras! People suffering with BP or BPD aren't bad or evil people at all. They just lack the ability to regulate emotions like a diabetic lacks the ability to regulate insulin. And we all have our difficult times and our weaknesses. And we all need encouragement in our lives!
Thanks for this!

encouragement in what? Having emotions running among, ruining their lifes (and blaming that on the whole world)?

Get what OP is trying to say... and yeah, no need to gang up on her for trying to be better person and not wanting to use her new label as excuse.

there are traits of both BP and BPD that are just damn annoying and disruptive. But they can be regulated... we don't have to accept our bad traits.

That rings a bell.... My mother slams things and throws temper tantrums too. I don't see those things being part of having bipolar. And as I say if I don't get a free ticket to blame my actions on bp, the same should apply to people with BPD.
