So Hiya folks ...

As many of you have read my rambling rants on here about trying to find the right combo of meds .. the latest attempt was Risperadal "

Well........................................ I am so lucky to have it cause me to LACTATE !!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

What a freaking weird *** side effect and of course I have to get it ( not that the medication was helping to be honest ).. But LACTATING for crying out loud .. needless to say I am stopping the med and my Pdoc will figure something out for me tomorrow ..

So the laughter point ...
I texted my 20 old daughter and asked her if she was ever mad that didnt breastfed her and told her im lactating from a damn medication

Her reply was " falling on the floor in hysterical fits of laughter" and her second text was " bottle it and sell it on Ebay "

I so love my daughter

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I have to laugh about this nonsense ..laugh or cry really .. LOL

Did you laugh yet????
Thanks for this!

I had a mammogram a few years back and when the machine pressed down on my boobs--yep, the milk came out!

I have been on Risperdal before and that might have been the time when I was. I am not the least bit surprised, anyway! It is sort of funny.

Oh good grief! & I thought I got way-out side-effects like sleep-walking ...
hankster was right, the lead in was half the fun. Your daughter's clearly the one to go one the road with you ... this is the start of a stand-up career, right? She'll be the heckler in the audience!

I've heard of this side effect before... a friend was on it, and had the same problem. Risperdal is partially excreted through breast milk too, so it's probably not a good idea to breastfeed while on it.

I am trying to not flat out laugh hysterically. My kids are in the room and I don't want to have to explain or dodge the question, "What's so funny?"

I didn't connect the milk with Risperdal at the time, as I recall, but I somehow knew it MUST be a side effect from a drug.

No job providing milk, though? That's sad.

I know a lot of these drugs are excreted through breast milk.

May you dry up soon--and start a career as a comedian! (I bet those weird folks who haven't a mental illness would find this story wild!)

Actually, my pdoc took me off Risperdal because I was showing high polactin levels. That is the hormone that make you lactate. I hadn't yet lactated, at least not more than a drop here and there, but nothing like a flow... I haven't had a period since starting Risperdal in April, which my pdoc says is a problem. OK TMI. But I was switched to Invega and so far I haven't noticed a difference. However, Invega seems to be working for the shot time I have been on it.

Good funny post. I did get a laugh from it.

Damn the hell we all put our bodies thru trying to find a place called " stable"

Abe: Geodon too ????? ACKKKKK sorry you had to go thru this messs too .

BLNs: My reasearch on risperdal is that the useful medication is whats left over AFTER the liver processes it ... Invega is just the same thing ,,,I believe all that info is on Crazymeds.com if i remember corrrectly altho due to all the meds my memory is shot

Payne: hahahha you crack me up thanks !!!

TN: glad you got a good laugh

Thanks everyone

Ok, first, I can't believe on posting on this , but my curiosity is up. I'd definitely heard of this as a potential side effect of a few things before, but I have to say, still, it would freak me out. Now... I did have a kid, so this is not a completely foreign thing, but at least there was a point to it. Here's the question. When it happens for that reason, it's a "use it or lose it" thing. For any that have had this side effect (and persevered), is it the same way when it's due to the med?

Can't believe I'm even asking this. I'm just too curious to hold back(!)

Well I am still freaked out over this whole mess

Daysssssssssssss after stopping this damn medication im still very sore .. according to my Pdoc Since I was lactating I would continue to if i stayed on the medication

So I gained moe weight and have had to deal with a ridiculous side effect ...

I honestly would love to say to hell with all the medications at this point.

I see my Pdoc tomorrow hopefully he can give me an idea when the pain will go away ..

RIDICULOUS I tell ya !
