Well another Friday is here!

Hard to believe its already December. Where did you go 2011?

Gettin' it on this night 3 of 8. Trying to get everything done so I can get out of here ASAP in the morning and go get me some deer. Should be quite an adventure.

Look forward to a fun night. Hopefully those who aren't out tearin' up the town will join us.

Best wishes and good luck in this first weekend in December

No I doubt feel bad at all. For deer at least, I feel excited and accomplished that I could overcome something that has senses a billion times more powerful than mine. I also am very thankful for the animal giving its life so I can nourish my body.

I also know that it must be done in order the maintain a healthy population for the animal. So by harvesting a few, the rest are able to live healthier, more abundant lives.

Hello miner and all

Son and I just got home. We drove into town to eat at Captain D's.

How is your back tonight, miner? Mine is having sympathy pains for you today, I think.

I can logically understand & know the need for keeping the population down because the natural predators no longer exist to keep the population down. But there's just no way I could kill anything myself. Interesting how the logic & emotions work against each other at times......I would rather watch their animal behavior than kill them any day.

One night I saw a deer come out of my woods & I opened my sliding door & walked out on the deck......the deer heard me but hadn't seen me yet. It made the most interesting blowing sound with it's nose.....until it finally turned & went back into my woods. I went to the internet (where else to we get every answer to the questions we ask?) & found out that noise is what they make when they are warning other deer about a danger THEY DON'T SEE. They make a regular vocal call when they do see danger....much different from when they don't see the danger.

Came home late one night & drive my truck into the driveway....my lights shined down my field & into the woods....standing right in front of my woods were 2 huge bucks......didn't count the points....but they were definitely huge. Another night I drove up in front of my house & my lights shined into my other field that I hadn't mowed yet.....there laying down in the middle of a pile of brush was a doe.....just kept laying there & I wanted it to move because I didn't want my dogs chasing her when they got out of the truck.

Was wondering how your horse riding experience went after the last time we posted several weeks ago. I absolutely love riding in my english saddle. Remember you said your new lady friend rides in eventing. Eventing is great as it throws together cross country, dressage, & stadium jumping which gives the horse & rider a lot of different experiences....definitely NOT Boring. I have a 17.3 hand high thoroughbred I'm waiting to bring to my farm. My mare gave birth to her 6 years ago. She was just at training age when I moved here & didn't want to take pot luck with trainers who I didn't know so left her where she was for training.....then I ran out of money to bring her here. That bonding at birth was something I couldn't give up to sell her......she was & is a very special horse with a very special personality....even though she is huge compared to me at 5'2".....she's my gentle giant.

I ride everyone else's horses right now....it's good experience, but falling off & fracturing my back earlier this year was definitely unplanned. One of those spooks & bolt manuvers with the horse & I thought I better bale just in case the horse was planning on accelerating across the alfalfa field. Bad choice on my part it seems

Hope your ride was a bit more uneventful than that ride of mine was.

THe riding was very good. Had only trotted before and my girl was getting tired of power walking so she said just to go when we got to a hill. So i brought him up to a trot and he broke into a cantor. Instead of pulling in the reins like a had on past rides because of fear I just went with the rythm took the hill like it was nothing. she was so impressed she said i can go trail riding with her and her mare anytime

I do go around the warehouse and find parts that double as weights. Do all the exercise I would in a gym. The only way I keep in any kind of shape

This is what I love about being a freelance graphics/web designer.

Working the night shift...at home.

Sweet! I've not ridden a ton, but the one and only time I rode English was the one and only time I got thrown. Bolted for the barn he did, and tossed me flat on my back at the doorway. Was a teen though. No harm, no foul.

Yeah, that's a good one. I also like last.fm, but haven't availed myself of either for quite some time.

Well, we're planning on getting a tree. Going to try a cut-your-own place first. Hopefully, the price will be ok. (ie. $20) We only want a fairly small and slender one with some spaces (ie. not over-pruned), so...
A bit earlier than usual, but we're sooo ready for some light and festivity.

What I hate about being a Web Designer: I worked all day yesterday, did the night shift, it's 11am and...yeah, I am still working.

But it's cool because I'm manic, right? Oh wait. Meds. Maybe not -.-

I went to the farm market today and got lots of tasty things to eat. This afternoon, we're going down to Ithaca to see some birds.

Tomorrow I'll probably be working all day, though. It's hard to take even one day a week off and still keep up with my commitments.
