I just find it very strange. Has this happened to anyone?
I'm also perpetually thirsty, which has made some friends put the idea of diabetes in my head but I'm pretty sure I don't have diabetes.

You could get your blood sugar checked at those floating free clinics they hold all the time, like to check cholesterol? They do a lot of stuff at pharmacies now, too. But both hunger and thirst a signs of diabetes - why do you think you don't have it? It's pretty serious if you do; I would get it checked out asap.
Thanks for this!

I think I don't have it because it's been a week now and something worse would have happened if I did?! Not sure if that's logical at all. I will go to the doctor on Monday for liver function checks among other things and ask about that...
Moose - I'm on Sodium Valproate. I have been on it for eight months now though...I don't know!! I am also very very stressed.

I tend to have more appetite when hypomanic and when depressed than when I'm in-between. I consider it a darn good sign when meds suppress my appetite enough that I get to the point of feeling physically hungry before I notice that I'm hungry!

No, worse stuff like comas happen usually happen with meds I think, take too much insulin and not enough food, blood sugar drops too low. i've had that happen with oral meds, what a rush, man! but no, people can go a long time without knowing. type II, it just danages your blood vessels, if you had type I you'd be getting skinny. anyway i'm glad you're going to the doctor soon they should check it. ontheother hand could be your meds?

I'm not getting skinny...But I keep marvelling at not putting on weight considering the food I eat. I think it's all due to stress, which has started hitting incredible levels this week with break downs and everything. Not so hypomanic any more
I'll just try to relax, take a note of what's happening and see the doctor.

Thank you all...I'll get checks on Monday. I'll keep you posted
