What is the longest you have gone without sleep during a manic episode? I have only slept 4 hours in the past 48 hours and I don't feel the slightest bit tired right now. In fact, I'm thinking about running around the block!

I got about 9 hours worth of road-side napping in during a 90+ hour stretch over the summer

i went a good four weeks on about an 1.5hrs a day on average, sleep for 3hours then up between 60-70...

In the last year, since I've been tracking it, I had about 2.5-3 hours a night for 3-4 days at a stretch a couple times. Not as extreme as some folks here, but getting under 5 hours for 2 nights in a row is enough to trigger a hypomanic episode for me.
Thanks for this!

nice job morethingswrong! I'm glad you ended up in the hospital, so long without sleep is actually quite dangerous.

((hugs))

I have gone through a few stretches where I sleep 2-3 hours over the spand of about 7 days before, especially when I was younger. In my late teens and early twenties it was a pretty regular thing to just stay up. I have no idea how I got through it and no one acted like it was strange.

I havn't had a stretch like that in about four or five years now.

I've gone 6 days straight with no sleep, didn't end up in hospital last time but very close.

What can you do to get more sleep. Not sleeping is an absolute trigger for me. And then when you still want to run around the block. Danger Danger. Do you have sleep aides or anything ?
