For years I tried alternative therapies for my bipolar disorder. Nothing worked. A year ago I started taking medication and it isn't working at all. It is so frustrating. I have a beautiful daughter. She is six years old. i want to give my best to her but I am such a mess. My bipolar disorder has gotten much worse in the last three years. The mood swings are more extreme. I become completely catatonic during my depressions. I am searching for new things to try. I am going to be hospitalized soon for blood tests and to have my medications adjusted. I hope this works,

So sorry your having such a rough time ... Medications often have to be changed , what works today may not work 6 months from now.. Sometimes a hospital stay is a good way to get your meds going in the right direction noone likes a visit to the hospital but sometimes its a necessary thing .

Be kind to yourself

Keep us posting on how your feeling

Hang in there. We are all a mess at times. It took several med changes before I was on the right combination of meds and even then I've had to have dose adjustments along the way. Working with a good therapist has helped tremendously. I hate the hospital but sometimes it is a necessary evil. Hopefully you'll get on the right track with your meds while there. Good luck.

I'm so sorry bluematador. I know how frustrating all of it is. I agree with Christina and Elizabeth that the hospital offers rest and medication adjustments until you feel better. Be very open with your doctor about what is going on so that the meds can be adjusted until effective.
Keep us posted. We're here with lots of hugs and advice when you need us.

Aww Bluematador,

Some times our minds are funny, telling us things like getting help and getting better is defeat. You did a good thing! I'm glad you went, if it means you are getting to a better place, that's what it's about, not about how we get there.

Depression going from a 10 to a 4!! That's tremendous! I hope you just keep getting better, thanks for letting us know. Glad you are back!
Thanks for this!
