I just found out I have that. It has come on suddenly, because the last time I had my TSH level checked it was normal. My most recent depression episode's symptoms match thyroid symptoms.

I also found out that my Depakote level is high, which explains why I have tremors.

Sorry I have been away for such a long time. I have been going through a crippling depression (which I now think is the hypothyroidism.)

What do I do with this info? I have already made an appointment with my pcp.

I also have hypothryroidism.

They will give you med. to regulate your thyroid. I didn't take mine for 3 days and went into a deep depression and had absolutely no energy. It took 4 days to get back to myself again when I restarted the med.

I take Levoxyl. It is a synthetic thyroid hormone. Without it, extreme physical weakness.

I have hypothyroid as a result of Lithium.

And, Depakote gives me awful tremors, too.

I got it the same time I got Rheumatoid Arthritis, 14 years ago. Every single woman in my family has it including my daughter who got it at age 15. I'm on 125 mg of Synthroid. I can't make it through the day without it, and I had terrible exhaustion and mood swings all summer because I needed a 25 mg increase. My daughter was researching papers on mental health, and came across hypothyroidism as a cause of mood swings in people with bipolar disorder. Of course, if you don't have it, it will not be a trigger.

Hi I'm pleased you've made an appointment as this happened to me years ago.
The only reason it was detected was due to a pea sized lump in my neck, which eventually had to be removed with glands as it was a cyst the size of a cricket ball pushing onto my windpipe.
Of course this is not what usually happens when you've got an over active thyroid just my personal experience as I'd just had an hydatidiform molar pregnancy.(Please Don't Panic)
You usually get frequent checks and sometimes meds depending on your levels.
My advice would be just get your glands checked over, mention the tremors and then the dr will advise you from there.
Lots of people have thyroid troubles that can be managed as you can see Its very common amongst us members I didn't realise until I've read your post.

Take care
