I don't know why, but I love yelling at inanimate objects. Like my phone. My phone is a big asshole. And my computer recording program just froze while I was making a drum pattern and I wanted to punch it.

Just thought I'd share that. Something on the lighter side I suppose.

I always tell the alarm clock to shut the f up. Like it just has a mind of its own and goes off just to piss me off. I hate waking up. Sleep is peaceful. When I can get some, I just dont ever want to wake up. haha

I also have a bad habbit of sticking my hand under the hot water that I swear could boil your skin off the bone. I curse the damn water all the time. Even though Im the dumb *** who keeps sticking my hand under it to test it. I do it often, just absent minded a lot I guess.

I'm pretty partial to tripping over cords, cursing the cords, and yelling "why!?!?!?!" "Why hath thou forsaken me?!?!??!" or something. Or mumbling some profanities. even though I'm the nerd that has cords laying everywhere. It's always my fault, I just find a way to blame things that won't argue with me.

My alarm clock snooze button is going to wear out eventually. I've always been in the habit of setting my alarm way early, and hitting snooze for like 2 hours. It makes no sense, but I do it anyways. ???

Yeah, my phone doesn't give a **** if I yell at it, but sometimes I feel like it's listening.. same with all the other objects that I have to yell at periodically. Stupid objects. I know they can hear me.

I'm pretty sure that only the mentally ill yell at things like phones and furniture. Maybe that should be in the DSM.. "Yells at objects."

Don't know if that's a BP thing, but it's pretty funny.

Haha, I think everyone does this. I yell at inanimate objects all the time, when I'm not talking to myself.

I don't, haha I'm the odd one out. Now I am wondering why I don't. I don't yell much ever. When I have yelled my throat gets very sore and raspy, so I've always taken it as a sign I shouldn't yell. But I dunno, yelling at objects sounds sort of therapeutic now.

You're right I know quite a few people who do the very same thing! Tho I'm told that I get a bit more 'passionate' than most it's better than yelling at the people around me tho

it can be fun and relieving. I wish my phone was made of rubber so I *could* throw it across the room without having to spend a 100 bucks to get a new one. The key here is to remember that not only is everyONE out to get you, but also everyTHING. Even though that table has been sitting there for years, you stub your toe on it, and yell at it for being in the way.

Yes. As long as your yelling at something or (someone that can't even hear you) then it's all good.

The therapeutic part is not blaming yourself ever. Just have to remember that NOTHING is your fault, and you should be fine. Since I was a kid I have been an object demoralizer. Which isn't a word, apparently, but it is now.

what?!?!? No MI and yells at THINGS? Objects? things that won't and cannot yell back? I thought for sure this had to be something only crazy people do. Maybe I'm wrong.

Perhaps it's the extent to which you yell at it. Does he call his phone a bunch of names, flip it off, and pretend to throw it across the room, or does he just say "stupid phone, I hate you".

Because everyone, at some point, hates their phone. I think.

Yeah, ****. I get pissed when the thing can't get reception, cause I'm at work, and it's really spotty there. I'm glad I got myself out of the habit of throwing my phone, because that was expensive.. and dumb. I went through a controller every couple weeks or so playing xbox. grrrrr.. stupid objects and their hatred towards me.
