Wonder if this could be reversed if I quit sleeping meds all together for awhile?
wow. well, you have tougher times than I do. Yeah, perhaps your body is immune to sleep aids, and it's rebounding. That's probably why I only take sleep aids once in a while, if I can fall asleep naturally, I do it.. even if it's only for a few hours.

I can't remember the last time I had a proper nights sleep! I'm up every couple of hrs. I only managed about an hour and half last night. Don't feel tired tho!!

Im going to try to stop them. I have just tried before and get no sleep at all. That is a bad thing for me. I can try though and after a couple hours if Im still lalying there I will take something. I thought about some sort of meditation or something before bed. Not sure if they have one that can help you sleep, buy maybe. I guess I willl start searching for it.

Back up again, The klonipin worked for exactly 4 hours, then up I went.

Hi, my name is BuggsBunny and I am an insomniac.
Hello Buggs.
I admit that I am powerless over my insomnia, and I turn it over to a higher power. Namely, my shrink.(or something like that, I'm pretty rusty on the 12 steps of AA.)

This sarcasm has been brought to you by Buggs (no make joke on bipolar forum) Bunny

Somewhere on here I have progressive muscle relaxation, if you can find the thread. That, plus what ever else you try, might help.

I haven't been sleeping either. Nothing works. I might go to sleep for an hour or so, but then I'm wide awake and not tired. Only problem is when I get sleep deprived for a few days I start to hear voices and I usually end up full blown manic. I'm going to see my pdoc today and I'll ask him if there is anything else I can try. Ive tried melatonin, benadryl, ambiem, restoril, lunesta, ativan and soma.

I hope he gives you some good advice. I know you have been struggling right along with me and it is awful. There are many of us on here. We know what it leads to but cant seem to avoid it at all when it happens. Not good. I will say a prayer for us all, because something has got to give. We cant keep going manic and getting psychotic and having to go to the hospital. I know thats what will happen to me. Its happened before when I was like this. Hugs to you.

If we all land in the hospital, do you think they could put the bunch of us on the same unit? Now wouldn't that be fun? Grrrr.

I was thinking about this thread and had trouble sleeping last night (not your fault) I was just thinking about how hard it is to sleep when you concentrate on trying to sleep. haha. I was sitting there thinking about wanting to sleep and couldn't do it. Just food for thought, perhaps a change of mindset about the very act of sleeping? Try thinking different thoughts? I dunno, just an idea... ??

Ok so I tried taking my mind off of sleep last night. Doesnt help to worry about it anyways. I was visualizing sheep jumping over me and it help. I slept about 5 hours total, with waking up here and there.

Try a sedating atypical antipsychotic like seroquel or geodon.

I have tried Trazodone, up to 600mgs. I also tried Ambien, and other sleeping pills. They didn't work for me. I take 2mgs of Ativan before bed and can get 3hrs straight, then I kind of just lay there, maybe sleep, maybe not.I understand, and wish you well. The only time I sleep well, is when I'm in the severest depression. I hope your newest product helps you! Take care
