Yesterday the weirdest thing happened to me. I had just gotten out of the shower and was in the bathroom and this feeling of total confusion came to me. It got worse by the minute. I layed down on the couch and was really freaking out. I didnt know who I really was why I was here, what my purpose was. This lasted for quite awhile not sure how long exactly, then it just began to go away slowly. Has anyone ever experienced this before?

This is not something I've ever experienced. Is it possibly some sort of anxiety or panic attack?

I've had moments of perhaps one or two seconds when I've forgotten where I was going as I was driving somewhere, on a drive that I make daily that could have ended up at any of perhaps a half dozen places. But I think that's med fog. I've had similar times when I've been deeply involved in something like a computer project and been snapped back into my immediate surroundings (e.g., phone rings) & been surprised momentarily to find that I'm, e.g., at home, that's it's 4 a.m., etc. I've been so involved that it just takes me several seconds (maybe even ten) to fully orient in time & space. Med fog again? IDK. This is a long way from what you experienced. I don't think it's all that common. I haven't heard folks here mention it in the time I've been on PC--doesn't mean it doesn't happen all the time, of course. I would sure check with my professional resources ASAP. If it is any sort of med thing, I'm pretty sure you need to get off of that med pronto. Just a thought ... Before your shower, had you taken any OTC drugs? Some of them can have dangerous interactions with other drugs. Cough meds, e.g., often very scary. Roadie ![]()

I'm sorry if I sounded flippant there, hon. Didn't mean to......this whole BP thing flummoxes me too.
![]() TBH, I really thought for a while that I was developing early-onset dementia, but my pdoc doesn't believe so at all. He says all this stuff is part of the bipolar experience, so to speak. I'd like to believe that there's a reason for the complete and utter confusion I have sometimes---I'll find myself in a room and not have the foggiest idea of why I'm there, how I got in there, what day or time it is, or what the hell is going on around me. Then it goes away and I'm back to normal again. Needless to say, I HATE that. I'm glad it's not dementia, but I'm not fond of the thought that it's r/t my BP either. |

Yes and lots. This has happened to me for as long as I can remember, I always assumed it was a normal human experience, but you know what, I do that a lot. I thought psychosis was a normal thing too when I was younger. Ohh duh!
I have no idea what it is, dissociation of some sort is my guess. I'm only guessing tho because I have no clue and I do have problems in that area. ![]() ![]() |

The only over the couter things I had taken were vitamins. Not sure if they could do this but I will ask the doctor. Thanks for that idea. Its def worth checking into. Im goin to write down my thoughts and ideas about it and give it to him so I dont forget anything.
