For me to worried about getting the rash. I have had steven Johnsons from other med so this could be with this med too.
Thanks for this!

Lamictal works primarily to stave off depression. If you have a lot of mania it won't do much for you. It doesn't usually take care of depression that is ongoing, for that you would need an antidepressant. So, lamictal alone doesn't always do it.
Thanks for this!

In my experience Lamictal has the most benign side effect profile. I hope it is the same way for you.
Thanks for this!

Hi thanks for this post,I to am a fibro sufferer and is finding it hard to find an anti psychotic med that doesn't make my pain worse.
I do take sertraline for the depression however I've also had queitipine and risperidol but both made me so ill.
Get my new meds tomorrow (can't remember name it ends in prol lol fibro fog or what!)
Please keep us posted on how you get on
Take care
Jk

Hamster I wish i could find a medication that really has no side effects for me like Lamectal does .... all AD's toss me right into Mania so they are all out ... Lamectal seems to work fine for the most part keeping me from falling into the big dark pit of depression.

JK Im so sorry you suffer with bipolar also .. its an absolute horror for me .. seems all the AP's I try have too many side effects ,,, haldol worked the first month then apparently enough built up in my system that I started having a HUGE increase in fibro pain so i stopped the Haldol for 5 days and my fibro pain dropped back to a 7 and not a 10 what a relief I stay at a pain level of 7 all the time despite taking all kinds of pain meds and "fibro meds" After taking 16 pills a days and still in massive pain i quit them all cold turkey hell of a week of withdrawls .. but i made it thru the only thing i take now is neurontin when my pain gets really bad .. taking it daily has no effect .. I wish you well in your search for a AP that doesnt flare your fibro ..... It really sucks to have both ((((Hugs)))))
