I have not told my H that I've been chatting or more like it sharing on this page. The reason - well he will think it's a chatroom or things like that. His previous wife had an affair so it took a loooong time for him to trust me. I am scared that if I tell him he'll react like I am cheating and I don't feel guilty at all goong on without him knowing. I mentioned that I read a lot on the net and ask questions so I am not totally lying. Anyone else coming here in secret??? I've told my sis though and she thinks it's great.

My sis knows I'm reading on a forum. She doesn't know how much I'm involved or posting. Just that I've found a place where I can help other people in my boat. I don't tell her how much you all help me. She freaks out too easily if she finds I'm posting personal details on line.

My husband knows that I use a forum but my family don't as they don't understand my mental health so I don't bother telling them, They just think I am nuts
![]() Why not show your husband the forum that way he will know that you're not hiding anything ![]() |

My mom knows that I'm on a mental health forum, but she doesn't know which one. A few months ago, I got really paranoid that she had figured it out and was tracking my posts...lol I'm mostly over that now.
I made this account several years ago in secret. My user name means "secret" in Latin. I agree that you should show your husband this site so that he knows that it is completely innocent.

Yeah, my husband knows I post on " some mental health self- help forum" but, I keep my posts, username, and the specific website to myself. That way, I can feel confident that anything I choose to share here, including personal relationship issues, will be seen by me only. It's not that I am ashamed as such, or feel scared to show him, I just know if I did share the exact site or my username, I would start automatically censoring myself in fear of writing anything he might read and feel hurt or embarrassed by. Most guys are way more nervous about sharing personal details with strangers than most women are. If I were in your situation, where trust and previous experience are a factor, I might print out a page of one of the forum threads, cutting off the PsychCentral logo and URL if you're a self- censorer like me, and show him that, saying you wanted to share it with him to protect the trust you've built...he'll probably be stoked you were considering him enough to proactively share like that.

My husband knows I post on here. He has actually seen the site when I have accidentally left it open but he knows its personal and doesnt read it. He knows this site has helped me a lot and I think he finds comfort in knowing I am able to talk to someone. I wouldnt feel comfortable hiding it from him because of having trust issues with us as it is. I find being open about everything with him helps a lot.

I haven't told anyone I post here either. I'm actually really phobic of people figuring out its me. Like anyone I might know just seeing something I write here and knowing. I guess I'm paranoid.

Up until recently, I haven't told anyone. My family doesn't know but my significant other does. He found out by accident. We share a laptop, I was browsing around on here one day and left the page open on accident. He saw it when he opened the laptop. He didn't say anything about it but I know what he was thinking. Other than that, I don't give the website name or my screen name.

My husband hasn't a clue this site exists. I'm sure he wouldn't understand why nor would he care that I post here.
I'm concerned for you if your husband is that jealous that you're afraid to let him know what goes on in your life. Who cares that she cheated? You're not cheating! Can't the man be rational? |

Afraid not, think he has some issues of his own!!!!! Know it's not nice keeping it from him maybe I can introduce him to the idea and keep on reminding him every week untill he understands. He is not on Fbook or any other social network he thinks it wrecks marriages. Right now we are in a good place don't want to spoil it!! It's the first time in months that things seem normal in the house.

My husband---hell, my whole family knows I'm bipolar, and they don't care what I'm doing online as long as I'm not bouncing off the walls, spending money I don't have, or screaming at everyone for no reason.

When I was with my ex, he knew I was on this site, but I asked him to not read my posts on here. That way I had a place I could vent/discuss issues before talking to him.
I think he had a hard time with it (probably wondering what I was saying about him, lol), but he respected that this was my space to deal with my issues.

Jip afraid he will go on the site and see my posts, I know I'm supposed to be able to tell him ANYTHING, we are partners! But he will really really think I'm just nuts. Untill he believes that I am in fact Bipolar I don't think he needs to know! My family does not know about me being Bipolar, it would cause quite a stir. My Mother in Law knows ( she's like a real Mom to me ) Only sis also knows!
