I just found this forum and am happy to be talking to people who understand what I am going through.
Went through a mixed state episode from hell, which led to my depression diagnosis of last 7 years become one of bipolar. Am scared now about the diagnosis- and the behavior. Looking forward to reading more posts and "talking" to you. Is there a bipolar chat? |

Hi! I am newly diagnosed too. It took a while for me to get a diagnosis too, but that is because of a conflicting condition. adult ADD. Nice to meet you! You can check the chat tab at the top of the page. I never looked myself, but I don't see why there wouldn't be!

Welcome aboard PC! There doesn't seem to be a bipolar chat, but it looks like if enough of you gathered in the lobby, you could make up a bipolar chat room of your own.

Welcome to our little corner of the world, grippy!!
 Like you, I was diagnosed recently, and only after having a mixed episode that was easily the worst mood fluctuation I've ever experienced. It lasted almost 3 1/2 months before I had a mini-breakdown and finally let my internist refer me to a psychiatrist. Honestly, I've suspected I was bipolar for years, but now it's 'official' and I can understand how you're feeling about the diagnosis. It IS scary. But with the right meds, it's manageable. Wishing you the best. Hope you enjoy posting here and 'chatting' with other folks who fight this battle daily.
