Now I'm not quite as depressed. I still can't go back to work for 6 weeks so who knows what I'll do to keep out of trouble. There's alot to do around my house but I can't lift anything so cleaning the house and gardening are out. I'm trying to stay positive but its hard. My neck hurts but not as bad as before the surgery but I don't dare take pain meds since last time made me manic.

I'm glad the surgery went well Please take your recovery period seriously. Did the pain pills made you manic on there own or bcoz of interaction with your meds?
Bcoz if it's drug interaction maybe you could try something different.
.
Get well soon

So glad the surgery went well. Time to take care of yourself and just take it easy.

Glad surgery went well, but understand that even successful surgery is no picnic. Maybe you can cinsult dr about what pain meds or treatment might give relief without manic effects. Neck pain is pitts. I have arthritis in my neck and use tens unit but have to keep it on back of neck so dont have stroke.

Welcome back, and I'm very relieved your surgery went well! Take care in your recovery stage - DON'T ignore any lifting or stretching rules. Music you enjoy and a comfortable position often helps with pain, but I agree that you should talk to your doc about alternative meds. There are many different kinds out there, and you should be able to find one that won't make you manic.

Please take your time with recovery... while slowly healing, there will be SO MUCH ALONG THE RANGE with pain, from *meh* to *WTFOWWW!!!* which can impact you in a variety of ways (i had surgery this past January). I'm so glad all went well. You're just gonna have to hold your horses until you're through the recovery. Period & ready to get on with the next phase.
