It'd help my mood if I lost 8 pounds. Or 80.

Metformin is taken for diabetes, insulin resistance or PCOS. I am on it for PCOS. Since PCOS and the insulin problems cause weight gain, by being on the metformin, you can lose weight easier. I have lost a bit of weight on it too.

I probably should go back on it. My diabetes is pretty well-controlled without medication right now, but my fasting blood glucose was edging up at my last PCP visit so I may have to start taking it again. I didn't lose a lot of weight when I was on it previously, only about 18 lbs or so, but even that little bit helps.

I've been sick the last week but I don't think I could lose 8 pounds in a week from that. I hope that I'd it's the pills that they keep working.

Diarrhea for the first few weeks. Tolerable if you're going to lose weight.
