You might want to take a break before your brain explodes with info. LOL

Yeah, give yourself a little time to absorb what you have learned so far. Process it, which may take anywhere from a few days to a few months.
See what you can apply to your own life. After that, you should be safe to go back to your research.

I was recently diagnosed with bipolar and I did the same thing. I got to be a little obsessed and learned quite a bit of information in a very short time. A diagnosis like this one is a huge deal and it's important to learn about it. When I was prescribed meds, I did the same thing too in regards to the obsessing a bit. Like I said, it's important to be informed. If you feel like you are going overboard a bit, just slow down a little. Eventually the "excitement" (for lack of a better term) will pass, you'll be comfortable with what you have learned so far, and you can take a step back and begin to process it hopefully looking at the big picture and staying positive. Good luck!

![]() The other thing that staggers my imagination is knowing I'll never be able to unring the bell---I can't go back and unlearn what I've discovered about myself. I can't remove the diagnosis from my medical records, either, and that could make renewing my nursing license a little dicey, even though I've never been a danger to my patients. So yes, I've gone overboard too in researching BP, finding out how people cope, what drugs do what and their ASEs, etc. I guess I'd rather know too much than not enough......I'm a reasonably intelligent human being who had NO idea whatsoever that I was losing my freaking mind. I just thought it was an overamped version of my usual moodiness.

I did the same thing Grinmt. Yeah it might be a good idea to just absorb what you've learned and take a break. But don't be gone too long.
