it basically told me that i was moderate to severe. But i don't feel bipolar. I mean sometimes i do when i get this rush. its like when you were a kid and you ate too much sugar lol. that what it feels like and i just cant stop talking. almost everyday i find myself fantasizing about sexual things and idk if its just cause my hormones are kickin in (im an 18 year old girl) or i really might be bipolar. Idk. im thinking about asking my mom if she can take me to get checked out but i doubt she would. she thinks im absolutely normal. but i guess she should since i dont tell her anything that goes on in my head. well sorry if im rambling. i just wanted to express myself a bit.

The quizzes on this site are entertaining.

Do your symptoms have a severe effect on your ability to work, go to school, maintain relationships with friends and family? If not, don't worry.

It wouldn't hurt to talk to an expert, I mean why not theres nothing to loose. About the sex part; who's to say thats not just mother nature? Not to say there couldn't be something abnormal going on but from a males point of view at 18 I could hardly think about anything else. If I was thinking about other things it had a sexual innuendo.

Please don't go by the quizzes this site offers. They are merely a guideline. You really should talk to a psychiatrist to be evaluated.

Everybody has ups and downs in their lives and not everybody has BP Disorder.

You may even want to ask your mom to take you to a therapist if she won't take you to a shirnk. You are 18 years old. You are legally an adult and if you want to be evaluated by a pdoc, then you should go.

Young adulthood is usually when BP starts. However, some have been BP their whole lives.

The best advice I would give you is to go and get evaluated by a pdoc or a therapist who can officially diagnose you with BP or without BP.

I know the quizzes aren't capable of diagnosing me, but its just the fact that after taking that particular quiz i've discovered things about myself that seem rather odd. I won't ask my mom, ill just find a way on my own. like i said she wouldn't believe me either way. but thanks for the advice.

babiicakies, everyone on this site either has bipolar or has a loved one with bipolar. There are no professionals who could diagnose you. If what is happening is bothering you then you should see a doctor.
Thanks for this!

The problem with psychological disorders is that it's easy to self-diagnose yourself as one thing or another. A lot of the diagnosis for the disorders are things that occur in everyday life, but at a point where you are unable to function for periods of time because of said 'issues'. That is why it is important to see a doctor, or therapist and be truthful. Don't tell them all the things that you saw on the internet and fit the diagnosis. Just tell them how you have felt and how you are doing now. This way they can get a better picture of your overall psyche.

That's the mistake I made going in.....I'd taken several online bipolar quizzes, and of course being an RN, I tend to think I can diagnose myself. So when I went in for my first pdoc appointment, I handed him the printouts of the quizzes and told him that's what I thought was wrong with me.

Now, looking back and knowing my pdoc like I do now, I'm surprised he didn't laugh me out of the office.......it's probably because I did turn out to have BP. But, not every mood swing is due to bipolar, and bipolar isn't just about mood swings. The only person who can really tell you the difference is a competent mental health specialist, either a psychiatrist or a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Good luck to you.
