I'm pretty down though, so does it make a difference.. More importantly, it doesn't matter if I am depressed or not, because who am I going to be happy with? Myself? Okay. No thanks. I'm just a loser who is meant to be alone. So drunk is perfect for me.

Does it help any at all if one says to you that alcohol kills brain cells just as narcotics do and that your illness, Bipolar, gets worse over the years unless it's treated medically?

You're right about not having much to look forward to if you continue to drink. Search deep inside yourself for the real you who wants to be free--and see a psychiatrist, get on proper meds, change your diet, and get your rest and exercise.
You may come out of it a new and completely different personality.

Good food for thought. I'm working on the diet and exercise. July 12th I'm seeing a psychologist. We will see I guess. Just gotta wait around until then.

Alcohol does not mix well with bipolar. Even though I have pretty much given it up, I will still occasionally try to celebrate some event, most recently my anniversary, with wine. One evening of drinking equals 2+ days of trying to get my mood back in order. It really isn't worth it. Trying to live a healthy lifestyle is the way to go. Personally I prefer the couch potato lifestyle, but I do try to get some exercise and eat healthy. It does make things better.
