I've NEVER seen anyone treated negatively on this site, and I doubt I ever will! You found the right place.

What happened? Are you feeling better now?

I don't know how much is ok to share. I don't want to scare you all away. Or trigger anyone.

You could make a new post and add the red trigger icon. Then people have a warning they may be triggered and choice to not read it if they're at a vulnerable time. As far as I know we can talk about what we want, but use the red trigger icon if sui/self injury will be discussed.

Scare me away? Ha! That would never happen
I think that we all have the same fear, that if people actually knew some things about us that they would take off, running for the hills. It's ok here. It really is.

What happen is. I was checking out a religious website. There was triggering stuff. Triggered memories of abuse. I'm a survivor of ritual abuse.

I took a hot bath. I'm going to read a romance novel. That helps me to stay grounded. I'm calming down some. I'll check back in later.

I have heard that therapy for ritual abuse takes really, really long time. Hugs.

I have a friend who went through something like that. She's 54 and still undergoing therapy plus medications for it, so recovery is a lifelong process. We're all in the same boat, hon.....we all have to work to keep our illnesses from taking over our lives, and sometimes all we can do is slog through things one day at a time......one hour at a time.....one crisis at a time.

Please feel free to post here whenever you want; somebody's always here to listen.
