I won't be of much help on inducing a manic episode, but maybe going back on your meds will help you pull out of this depression . I can relate to the desire of wanting to be manic, but that is dangerous in itself. I really hope the best for you .

Agree with vj. You don't want to induce a manic episode if you are off meds. They can get pretty bad. Your best option is to go back on your meds to get rid of your depression. A manic episode will only end in a crash, making you feel even worse than you are now.

I agree with Buggs and Vj ..

Maybe you need a change of current medication to pull you out of the depression..

Good Luck and hope you stay safe

I understand the desire to trigger an manic or in my case hypomanic episode and have experienced it myself, but I've always decided it isn't worth the destabilizing effect, because as crappy as I might feel right now, a manic episode is just going to leave me feeling depressed when it ends.

You might even end up in a mixed state if you try to induce a manic state. That definitely won't help things or how you feel. I'm sorry you are in such a tough state. I hope you can reach out to your p-doc or t for help and feel better soon. ++

My pdoc told me they used to do this (sleep deprivation) in hospitals back in the day to get someone out of a bipolar depression.

But your title is mood lift, that doesn't have to mean going into a full on manic episode. If you're bp, you have had one, and you know the repercussions and the mess that follows right?

You have meds for a reason, please at least take your mood stabilizer so you don't go full on manic through the roof.
