I find when I'm doing ok I forget to take my meds. My hubby will ask did you take your meds? Which pisses me off. Then I think did I? Guess I'm acting bad and don't realize it or??
So now I feel like I'm on a emotional rollercoaster today. I did take my meds today though. Do any of you not take your meds when your feeling ok? Then BAM rollercoaster here we come!

If you will put your meds in an organizer and keep them somewhere you will not be able to miss (mine sit right next to my favorite chair in the living room), you will always be able to tell if you've taken them or not. It will keep you from playing the "I feel so good I don't think I need me meds" game. Not taking your meds regularly will cause them to not work correctly which often is quite obviously to everyone but ourselves. I can always tell if my husband hasn't been taking his meds even though he doesn't recognize the changes in his own thinking and behavior.

Yup! Its a battle for me to 'not' forget to take my meds. I will have the notion that I am fine and all is well with me and then BAM I become manic! Which is fun when its hypo-mania but not when I become manic as well I tend to become delusional etc etc! I have been good so far with my meds I just have to keep reminding myself they help me out A LOT! Plus I have my Support Workers, GP, Psych and CPN making sure I take them!

Thank you guys! I will get an organizer and start today. My mind is just spinning w/tons of thoughts that don't make sense. I'm busy doing several things and getting none of them completed. Ugh!

Not sure if this is an option, but I have an reminder set on my phone calendar that goes off every evening at 8 to remind me to take my meds (could easily set it up for a couple times a day if necessary). I don't let myself turn off the notice and tell myself I will do it in a little bit- I go do it right then. It's a little thing that helps me remember. ++

i forgot yesterday, and was angry and irritable, and especially useless. I have some I take in morning and some at night. It was the morning dose I forgot, and I also had a lot of trouble falling asleep. But that experience reminded me to take them today!

Yes, I used to forget my meds all the time or simply not take them but, then I decided to commit.
I haven't taken meds in over a month not sure how long though since my sense of time is wacky. It took some adjusting to go unmedicated, just like it took adjusting to go on medication when I needed them. I'm doing well without them. Without medication my mood has been just fine, I don't feel drained all the time, I can feel happy, my appetite has improved and I don't wake up groggy every morning. I do get a tad bit more anxious and have some trouble concentrating but, I deal with it. You're probably experiencing issues because your dosing is all screwed up. Try the organizer and consider going without meds. |

I set them all up and forget to take them. My husband reminds me when I'm doing okay, if he doesn't feel to bad. He remembers when I'm doing bad or he's okay. I remember when he's bad So, we tend to flip flop on who brings breakfast in bed w/ meds. I always have to remind him to take his night meds but that's easy because when our son goes to bed at 10 pm I remind him.

I've been on and off several meds for so many different reasons (changed jobs, moved, no insurance, etc.). I'm obviously much better when I'm stable on the right meds, and the right doses. It always comes back to that. And if I miss a dose for some reason, I feel horribly dizzy, so I make sure I take them at the same time every night.

I tapered off meds 8 months ago because they weren't stopping my mixed symptoms, and the side effects were really bad. But after 6 months off them, I reviewed the situation with my pdoc and we are trying something different now. Still a rocky ride.
Forgetting hasn't been my reason for missing them.
