Slept 2hrs, (maybe) I was way too wired, only got out the bath at midnight anyway, 2am I was forcing sleep to come and get me, 4:15, I was up and about...

At work now...The supervisor walked by, said something smells funny...

Now I'm thinking that the private convos are about me, smelling. Actually I'm convinced. Its driving me nuts! Everyone's whispering, staring, were they doing that yesterday? Idk. Seems like they're just waiting for me to realize I smell! Really want to talk to people, I do. But I can't look anyone in the eye, too paranoid (?) to get too close incase they say I smell. I REALLY don't want anybody to tell me that, even if they are thinking it!

Started off as a great day, its completely ruined now and its only 10am...

Not tired yet tho

Spray some deodorant and get on with work. I'm sure you are just being overly sensitive

Look at the bottom of your shoes. Maybe you stepped in some dog or cat poo.

Ytf do I think they're talking about me anyway? I can make out some words, they're discussing clients and sales agents,I think, but it feels like thats a cover. Sometimes they glance at me when they speak.,

I experience this sometimes. Often times I focus on one person and blame them for disliking me. I think it's a sign of paranoia.

Sometimes it helps me if I ask someone casually if they dislike me. I usually find out that they don't. I try to use that as proof that the belief is false.

Hi Trippin, I'm guessing that your work day may be over by now-trying to mentally get my time zones right. Lack of sleep will definitely play with your brain. I am assuming you used soap when you bathed at midnight, so if the scent was coming from you, I am assuming it was an especially good scent!

Finally, home time! I'm glad to report that I did my best to relax as suggested, immersed myself in work, also as suggested (ok ok I admit, the word suga used was concentrate ) and the paranoia eventually dissipated. Thank God it didn't last all day! Thank you so much, for not making me feel even weirder... hope I sleep tonight, but I won't hold my breath

Speaking of smell, I have heard that lavender helps sleep. I have not tried though.

Why must it be you, Trippin? Maybe the supervisor who walked by has a bad bone
in his nose or a sinus infection.

It's that supersensitivity we all have, Trippin.

Take care.

This reminds me of a few years ago. I put a dirty dish in the dishwasher at work. The next day an e-mail went out to the whole office saying "Please rinse your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, no one like to scrape off other people's old food!" I was convinced it had been my dish, and everyone knew and must be really mad at me for being lazy, and I didn't use the kitchen again for six months.

My bf used to call me "stink" because I used to be so worried about me having bad hygiene/smelling... I used to get paranoid that after I walked away from someone, they would laugh at me for me smelling bad... It was ridiculous at the time, but it made me very paranoid to the point where i would ask over and over, "do I smell?"...

So, I definetly get the paranoia thing... And like others, if someone addresses a group of people, majority of the time I automatically think it's about me... For example, at work they sent an email about people not using their badge when entering the building. I immediately started to wonder if the email was about me.

Just try to relax... If you know you get paranoid about things, ignore the obssessive thoughts...

Trippin2.0,we all want to impress our acquaintances positively. When we lack self confidence we assume that others talk ill of us.But the fact is that most people have a lot on their plates & do not spend much time in idle gossip;barring the few meanies, who like to pull down somebody. But you don't need to lose your sleep over them-they are not worth it.You are considerate , sincere & sensitive.Have faith in your own value.Take care.

Well, Trippin, I hope you don't have more paranoid thoughts, too. I have them all the time. If people are whispering I automatically think they are talking about me. I automatically think people will dislike me the moment I meet them. When I had my first son I was completely convinced that he would not love me even as a tiny baby. I always feel like people are making fun of me or putting me down. It's horrible and I don't wish it on anyone.
