be aware and careful Clint remember some of your recent posts when on a downer? are you sure you're ready to go med-free? i believe in it, really admire the folks here who are doing it med-free. but they also have worked for it - coping skills, diet, exercize, lots of things. i'm not saying you haven't worked for it or you're not ready, just asking the question cuz i care bout ya, you sure you're ready?

Checkin in today. Not doing so good. I decided to continue my meds I'm not ready to be off them yet idk what I was thinking. I guess I thought that I felt good and wasn't bp and I still at this point think I'm not. I don't see it as much as others do I guess or maybe they are full of crap who knows. Either way ill stay on for a while longer. Just as long as I feel bad I guess idk wtf I'm doing.

I think you are being smart. I do not think there is a thing wrong with feeling like you might be able to go meds-free. I think that you are entitled to that freedom; it is your treatment plan after all. I think the most important thing (that I must whole-heartedly congratulate you on) is that you realized that the time wasn't quite right, that you aren't ready just yet. NO shame in that game. You just taking care of you. i can dig it. glad you're safe. I hope you get to feeling better, sweets.

It's better to be safe than sorry. I did go off all my meds. I was on 6 meds, but it took me quite a while. I worked on getting a lot of tools in my tool box to deal with the highs and lows as they came, my diet had to change quite a bit, and I worked on my perspective a lot. But when I did go off the meds, I took it pretty slow, tapered off one at a time over a long period.

I had tried dropping them cold turkey many many times before.. like around 20 times at least and every time was bad. So this last time I made a plan and spanned it out, it can be done. But there is that saying abut slow and steady wins the race, and I think making such a big change as going off the meds, the slower the better. But it's still something you can achieve if that's what you want, you will know when you are ready. Nothing wrong with going back to them at all. Even still I know that if I cannot handle things alone I can still have that option available if I need them.

Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for this!

try to remember these great feeling days for when you need them. i personally think it's good to remember i'm on a mood roller coaster, it goes up and down and up. and when i'm down, like now, i need to remember that i will be up again at some time.

Just glad you caught it in time, Clinte. Hope you're feeling more stable today. Try
practicing some changes in your diet before you ever give up medications again, please. Those changes make the difference for many of us.

I've seen two people be able to give up medications and live a stable life by making
appropriate alterations in their lives through diet, exercise, etc. That's about the only way I know to do it, beyond having a miracle occur.

Take care of yourself.

Will do genetic thanks for the advice. I need to look I know there is a book about that. And I dont think going off meds for the day messed me up really I just was riding a high and figured I was not wanting it to go away so not taking meds was the way to stay that way I always forget its temporary.

Clinte89 you're so good for going with what you feel is best for you. I asked my dr if I can get off meds and he said NO cuz I'd be a mess in a few days needing to go back on them. Guess we just feel good on meds and think we can conquer being med-free. Some people can and that's awesome. Maybe it's just not your time to be med free. Please know we are here supporting whatever you decide. We are here to take the ride with you
