Hello, just wondering if you work, what you do and if depression has ever affected your job. It has affected each of my last three jobs severely.

I'm learning from these forums that I need to get a low stress job, but I'm thinking that means less income - hate this illness.

Thank you

I take Prozac - it eliminated depression. But it does not work so well for every one.

I have a high stress job, I am a Dental Assistant but I have always been the kind of person that gets bored and thinks if I don't go go go, maybe it is a coping mechanism hmm...

When I did work I would go to work drunk almost everyday because when your drunk at least for me it didn't matter but I don't recommend that method lol

My high-stress job actually is less of an issue when I'm depressed than when I'm manic. Depressed, I'm generally avoidant and I just hole up in my office and get the paperwork done. Manic, I'm bouncing off the walls, can't concentrate for squat, and tend to make bizarre statements that I later don't recall (or so my boss said when I threw my big wingding early this summer). I'm very fortunate in that he knows about my diagnosis and works with me when he sees that I'm getting strung out.

I disclosed to my boss and the HR department because there are days I can't cope. Otherwise I need to take a day sick leave, even a few minutes away from my desk really helps.
I get bored easily, so I need a bit of a stimulating job too.
