I thought that MTW is not on Haldol but is just on Lamictal+Lithium these days, without side effects.

I only take the haldol when my pretty much constant hallucinations get me questioning if they are real or not.. and when I do take the haldol its for a few days a week tops! It does make my fibro pain horrid.

My Pdoc has gotten me Lamictal and Neurontin alot cheaper than I could find in any pharmacy.( thankfully )

I do pay out of pocket for my Lithium (dirt cheap) Flexiril( cheap) Xanax and Halcion.

Well maybe think about it this way: cheap as it is, Li costs you money, so once you have bought it, you might as well use it on schedule.

I've been non-compliment for years with my old pdoc. At times I'm non-compliant with my meds. I'm supposed to call pdoc or T when I don't take them 2 days in a row. I have to take my lamictal or I will be put lithium. I've been compliment for the most part now because I feel in complete control of my meds. Now because I didn't call when depressed or before stopping my anti-depressant I'm now seeing pdoc 2x a month

I have a medication monitoring service through a non profit agency here in town that comes twice daily to make sure I take my meds.

I think the reason I often skip doses is due to my financial situation. I try and stretch my meds out longer than the 30 day supply.

My Pdoc is aware and understands my situation, of course he said that eventually he would like to see me taking my meds daily.

It really is sad that I have to decide what is more important meds or food. So many people in this situation, very sad.

That is very sad. If it comes to that, I would make sure that I continue taking Lithium, which is dirt cheap, no matter what.

It has already come to that sadly enough.. My Pdoc advised me to make sure I keep on the Halcion more so than daily Lithium. If I don't sleep I spiral to hell. Once my financial situation resolved I will be able to take all medications as directed.

My chronic pain is a daily trigger. Its a shame they have really no effective treatment for Fibro.

Sure, sleep trumps Lithium in importance. And Halcion is cheap too, right?

I'm pretty compliant unless I forget (which is kind of often : / )
The only thing I have been non-compliant with is my Marplan....taking 3 instead of 4 cause i take it all at once at night and it gives me a huge headache at 4. 3 is ok.

Halcion is an old old medication so one would think it would be cheap ? Not really. almost 40.00 a month ( I take 2 every nite).. which may be chump change for alot of people . 40.00 is a weeks worth of groceries for my husband and I.

I would not call it non-compliance when you have a valid reason to need a reduced dose.

You can probably do better than 40.00 a month if you try Amitriptyline for sleep. It is also old old old and I have heard that it is pretty cheap, although I do not know exactly how cheap - until Jan 2013 my medications are free from the county.

I tried amitriptyline in the past is has no effect on me. I have honestly tried every sleep medication made over the last 30+ years. Until I qualify for disability there is no free meds from my county.

I hope you quality, Morethingswrong! You really need to be supported and to have free meds.

morethingswrong- its an MAOI ....parnate and nardil are the other 2 maoi's

"Monoamine oxidase inhibitors treat depression by preventing the breakdown of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine in the brain, increasing their availability. These medications are not used often because of their potential for drug interactions that can lead to problems with blood pressure as well as the need to avoid foods that contain the amino acid tyramine. Ahhh Vanessa thank you. Yes as you said MAOIs aren't a good first choice. I hope you are getting good results. Sorry about the headaches.
