Eating a little food because it is necessary and that is it. Topamax has never arrived in the mail and with this turn of events might not be needed, after all. What could that be? Stress? Effects of exercise? Cannot think of anything else. Posted about it on the ED forum but the responses do not seem relevant to me. Ex H used to say that when he gets into serious running, he stops wanting to eat. Can merely commuting by bike do it? I do not do any other exercise.

This is too drastic for me; I simply wanted to have a somewhat smaller appetite.

No new drugs.

This is so unlike me.

I'm not a big food person to begin with. My ability to eat really goes with my moods. My ability to enjoy food is rather limited, but I have always been this way.

For you, I'm guessing your apitite is shrinking due to extra exercise. Also your body is probably getting more endorphins from all that bike riding. I don't know much about your diet but as long as your getting enough carbs for the energy to ride, and protein, then you should be okay. I bet your appitite will return on its own.

I imagine its the extra exercise when I don't exercise I eat everything in the house and then some lol. But when I exercise I find the need to less food or rather the desire for food. So like dark said I'm sure it will get back to normal once your body gets use to biking

Good for you for getting out and exercising! So many of us (myself included) intend to, but never do it. As for appetite, your body is probably just trying to find some new balance. Also, eating can just be a bad habit. I call it "grazing" at my house. If I'm not doing much, I tend to want to eat more. Trust your body, it's efficient and these changes are most likely very positive. Good luck and keep at it! I hope things get normal, or better, soon. Peace.

Hamster, wait to hit your plateau before you add the swimming. That will be extra good for your body.

Yes, but also once you feel your bike ride is extremely easy you've hit your plateau. It will have become "normal" for your body and you'll start to require less calories, etc. That is when you add the swimming. A new boost of physical activity. Swimming and biking will be perfect to keep you toned and healthy.

Hitting plateau is very demotivational for people. That's why I wanted to let you know.

Your body builds muscle and strength, what was once hard becomes easier, you don't have to expend as much energy doing it, like Dh is talking about. So it is important to change it up from time to time. Add something new, do things in a different order. I wouldn't worry tho about waiting to add the swimming, cause there is always something else you can add or change to get past the plateau.

If you notice your exercise to be seasonal than it's easy to change it up. Swimming indoors in the winter + walking + your restorative yoga. More biking in spring + jogging + hiking + swimming.. whatever you want it to look like. Different activities like this use certain groups of muscles more and in a certain way, so good to be well rounded. Also maybe tennis or something like that might be fun for you in the warmer months. Having a wide variety also helps one to keep from getting bored with the routine. You live in a great area for all this stuff too!!

Plus you have had a lot of stress, I don't feel very hungry when I am stressed.

I cannot play tennis but I used to love to play badminton, a similar sport. Since badminton is popular in China and the Bay Area has a large Chinese population, we have community centers that offer badminton. And now that I am biking I have transportation! Thank you for reminding me of it - I always wanted to go but did not have transportation. So now I just need to find my racket!

I am too nauseous to eat. I think it is from anxiety. The anxiety is due to the lost keys. If I find the keys, I will probably be OK enough to eat some.

I bet you are correct. Try not to worry too much about the keys. It can be fixed easily, the landlord should have masters of them all.

I'm amazed at how little compulsion I have to overeat now that I've been off Zyprexa for a few weeks. As a result, I've lost 14 lbs. without really trying to diet, although I'm not sitting around eating candy or doughnuts either. I miss the great sleep I used to get when I was on Z, but it's nice not to be so hungry I could eat the sofa. Blood sugars have also come down quite a way---no more 180s and 200s, now they're in the 120-150 range. All of this is great!!! Now, if I could just SLEEP through the night.........

I'm on 10 mg. Zyprexa & 800 mg. Seroquel. If I'm unable to fall asleep immediately after taking these meds at night, I'm pigging out. I've gained almost 50 pounds since my meds were changed. I've been taking Ambien at night before taking the Zyprexa & Seroquel to crash before the hunger hits. I'm not sure that's the proper usage of Ambien, but I have to do something to stop the weight gain.

I have never seen anyone take that much Z with that much Seroquel combined. I think something is wrong here.

BipolaRNurse, great to hear your news. 14 lbs down without trying is wonderful, for a change.
Thanks for this!
