Does anyone's meds make them excessively thirsty? If so, how do you deal? I drink as much ice water as possible (I keep a full Britta in the fridge) but get sick of constantly drinking water so I change it up with iced tea or Pepsi. It's not dry mouth it's full on thirst.

I had this problem when I was on lithium. Drank tons of bottled water and got tired of the same old no-taste. lol.

Our grocery store carries little single-serving flavor packets for bottled water. Iced tea flavor, berry, etc. I found that using these in between straight up water really helped to mix it up and give me some variety.

Reducing the dose of Lithium eliminated this problem altogether. Went from 1500 to 900 mg.

Definitely add lemon juice to the water or buy the flavor packets such as crystal light. You can get them for zero calories or very little calories (usually 10 for 16 oz. Really good.) Unfortunately a bunch of the tea flavors still have caffeine but you have so many others to choose from. Heck, if you can find them at Walmart.....the choices are endless!! Yet you'll still find them at just about any grocery store.

I find that I forgot to drink and then get dehydrated a lot. Dry mouth is an anxiety symptom for me so it's important to keep it at bay.

Also, if dry mouth is affecting you, chewing gum is a quick fix. The only problem is that it might make you forget to drink fluids without the dry mouth to remind you.

If you decide to chew gum, I recommend killing two birds at once with Xylitol gum from EPIC (a small business in UTAH). It protects from dental decay effectively and is clinically proven.

Had this with lithium. Chewing gum helps. Make sure you only drink low cal soft drink or this can add significantly to weight gain.
