I'm sorry to be posting again about the same thing. I spoke with my Dr. last night and she decreased my lithium and upped my Abilify. Every time I talk to her or see her, she is changing my meds. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster of medication that's not really helping. I'm so discouraged, I just want to say eff it and walk away.
I'm working on finding another doc, but that is proving to be a very difficult task because of my insurance. I'm so sick of all the side effects from the lithium carbonate. I just recently began researching it in depth, and all these weird little things happening to me can be tied to it. I want to get off it as soon as possible, but where do I go from there. What else is there? I put all my trust in my Dr. and believed she was doing the right thing, but once I started researching I realize she's not. I'm so discouraged and worn down. I don't know what to do. |

Have you told her you want off the lithium? Some people choose to live with horrible side effects, so pdocs won't neccessarily assume you want off of it. I've been there, lithium did all the wrong things to me, so I really empathize with you. I hope your pdoc gets this sorted soon

It's ok to tell your Doctor you do or do not want to take certain medication.. I have a long list of medications that I refuse to take. My Pdoc is fine about it.
If you doctor doesn't want to work with YOU to find a solution that you are happy about , then it is time to find a new Pdoc no matter how hard it may be. Good luck ![]()
