i've been taking 3/4th of a .25mg seroquel nightly which works for sleep and stopping the ruminating, repeating thoughts in my head. last nite we went to our health club holiday party which had about 600 members attending...very very noisy, having sensory overload and knew it would be a rough nite getting to sleep. i took the full .25mg of seroquel which did nothing and after about 2 hrs. of no sleep, i took a .5mg klonopin. it barely worked. my question is when you know you're really hyped up more than usual and know sleep won't come using your usual drugs, what works best for you. spent the entire a.m. and early p.m. sleeping off the drugs and trying to catch up on all the missed sleep.

Medicinal marijuana, Amitriptyline, and Zyprexa PRN all work well. Marijuana works best from the standpoint of being well-slept and ready for work and physical activity in the morning.

That marijuana doctor was actually quite correct in her prediction. I said that I intended to use marijuana for migraines and insomnia. She said that I would most likely find relief from insomnia and might find relief from migraines. So she assigned a higher likelihood to finding relief from insomnia.

My experience? It works beautifully for sleep but does not work for migraines. But I do not complain, because, thank god, I do not get migraines daily and sleep is something I need daily.

If you get a prescription, I recommend (and my doctor recommended) that you eat marijuana or buy capsules that look like vitamin E, because smoking is detrimental to your health. There are also people who use a vaporizer, which is safe, but requires expensive equipment.
