So I've discovered that yes, my memory is bad. Funny how I found out. My husband has a really good memory trainer app on his phone, so i got it for my phone. I have been feeling like some memory training may help. I think about my psychologist asking me to remember a sequence of words like "red, truck, dish, cow," and then about 15 minutes later asking me to remember them, which I did. And she was like, ah ha! See, your memory is fine.

But on this memory training it seems I have certain holes in my memory. I've been playing on the easiest setting and I always get extremely poor score.

With lists, I do pretty good, (although I know from many trips to the store that relying on memory of a list is not a good idea,) but with sequences of letters, numbers, or patterns I do terrible! This really bothers me because remembering things in sequence is very important to my writing. I am wondinger if that is why I'm having so much trouble and I lose my writing ability or reading ability suddenly. I can't remember the sequence? I don't know. But, I wish the thing had a better tracking method because I think this is rather important. I don't know what it means.

My memory is lousy and I know its the meds I'm on and it affects my reading too.

Keep doing the games, you may get better at them and improve your memory!

I don't know whether it's the bipolar, the meds, the fact that I'm in my mid-50s, or all of the above, but I definitely have some short-term memory loss. I can't memorize anything anymore......give me a phone number to dial, and by the time I get past the area code and prefix I can't remember the rest of it. I'll tell the same story to the same person more than once. And I sometimes stop in the middle of a sentence because I'm unable to spit out the correct word to describe what I'm talking about! Drives me crazy, I tell you.....it's embarrassing. But there doesn't seem to be much I can do about it.

I'm afraid I've always had trouble with the memory thing. :/
But something like red truck dish cow... that I could remember. It sticks in my mind like a story or a nursery rhyme. But other stuff I don't remember. When thoughts race how could we remember them all. And I don't have many childhood memories left. They say memory probs are a bp thing, interesting, sucks, but sounds right. and there's not much choice over it, what I remember and what I don't. Then there are some distant past life memories that won't leave my mind. Strange days indeed.

my memory is terrible!

most of the time i can't even remember what happened an hour ago (so forget yesterday/ the day before).

but i have it with everything... music, i could hear a song on an album- then hear the next and think to myself.... what song was before this?. or is this the first song

eating- i often forget if i've eaten a meal or not (yep, it's happened to me loads of times!)

forget what i'm doing, forget everything.. just- if you need someone to remember something for you, don't rely on me. hah.

It must be a bipolar thing. My memory is terrible, too. I do the same as everybody else-tell the same stories because I forget I've already told them or who I told them to, can't remember yesterday. Sometimes I forget what I just said. I remember things from 20 years ago but not two days ago. I asked my doctor about it but he acted like it was no big deal, so I'm learning to live with it. Not much in my life I really want to remember, anyway.
