Okay, so, to make a long story short, I recently had to find another job (as I said before in other posts) and I got called for two interviews. One at a retail place and one working as a dietary aid with the elderly. I had my first interview today for the dietary aid position and they loved me immediately and I got the job right away, pretty much. They just have to do the background check and check me for TB. So, I basically start this weekend.

Now, I have another interview tomorrow for another place which is retail, but I'm not sure if I should take both jobs if I get offered both.

The job I got offered today pays really well and the hours are really good. The environment is also really nice which is a huge plus, everyone is so NICE!

But, it's doing something I'm not used to, so there's a chance I might not like it. But I am in love with the idea of being able to help the elderly and the job itself is really not that hard.

The other job I'm interviewing for tomorrow is for retail, as I saidd, which I've been doing for awhile now. I'm used to it, but this place is really big and they seem really strict and the environment just doesn't seem really friendly.

So, if I got offered this job as well, I'm unsure if I should accept it too.

I don't think I can emotionally handle two jobs, especially learning new positions at the same time because I'm easily stressed and I need something more easy going.

But if I decline this job, I'm worried that I'll regret it and wish I had chosen that one over the one with the nice environment and good pay.

The last time I declined a job I was offered, my current situation happened. My boss kept trying to get me to quit.

What should I do? I'm really thinking I'm going to decline the other job, in retail, because I can't handle two jobs, but what if I end up hating the other?

Just take the dietary aid position and learn the ropes to do it very well. And use the remaining hours to take care of yourself.

Thank you, that's really what I think I'm leaning towards. It seems like a really good position to be able to get the fulfillment I need of helping others, and the great pay is just a bonus! I really want to do well at this job.

It is a very simple choice - there should be no hesitation.

I agree with hampster-bamster! This dietary aid seems like a wonderful position. This is not the time you want to get a retail job anyway, I work retail and I don't have any time to train my new associates, they all seem pretty terrified lol.

Good luck!

i remember your previous post about the old job and the boss and the *****y girl you worked with there.

it is so hard to make decisions like this. i've heard that trouble making decisions could be a bp thing too.

to me, as the others are saying, the job with the elderly sounds like a great idea. just try it out, how wonderful to try a job that would be meaningful to you. and if you hate it, you will find a different job.

i'm actually so happy for you and this new opportunity, good luck with everything.

I'd definitely go for the aide position instead of the retail. As you know, there are stressor to both roles, but from what it sounds like, the aide position already sounds calmer than the circus you know retail can be.

Take the chance and learn something new! You can do it

I fail to see the dilemma as you've made a choice, reassurance is good tho: 2 Jobs will have you way too stressed out to perform either, the Job with the elderly is a good working environment with good money, as opposed to retail hours, stress and wages.
The job with the elderly it is!!!
Shops aren't going anywhere, trust me. So you can always return to retail in the future should you want to.
Learning a new skill is always scary, I should know, 9th job, my 9th skill, but its doable and rewarding as hell

Thank you everyone! I still have the other interview today, but I'm thinking I will go with the dietary aid position. I'm going to have to wake up really early for it, but I think it will be okay.

I think your enthusiasm and desire to help the elderly is going to be a big deal in this job.

If you feel called to help these people, it's a huge sign.

So many people go through life hating their job. The fact that you are ready to offer so much of yourself to help these people is good.

If everyone did the work that they are called to do, that they are good at, and that they enjoy, the world would be a better place.

Thank you! I don't know if I'm being called to do it or not... I just like helping people, so it seems like the right fit. I lucked out, though. The job I interviewed for today won't make their decision until next week. So, I have this weekend ot learn if I like this job enough, and if I don't, I can take the other job and wait it out.
