thought this would be a fun thread- what sort of things have you baught while mannic that you later found out you either didon't need them, or it was a total waste of time buying them?

so i'll start with some of mine (and some of these are embarrasing!)

a russian computer game.... not only was the whole thing in russian- set up, game play, instruction leaflets... etc, but it was for the wrong computer console (1 i didon't have at the time, and 1 i didon't plan on getting!).

a dvd about the history of plants (i really hate plant documentries). well any nature stuff really.. unless it's steve erwin crocodile hunter- he's cool!

an ugly looking santa claus- where you press the button and it goes ho, ho, ho. now it's sitting on my desk and i'm like... uh... what's it still doing here?

a football (complete with gloves). you're meant to kick the ball, and it comes bouncing back- funny how i don't even play with balls yet i still buy one!.

a single peace of fudge (not a tin of it, just 1 peace)

a cuddly panda... which actually does nothing, but used it when i wasangry to rip the stuffing out of...

so what about you guys?
Thanks for this!

Does Christmas shopping count? I've spent $400 on my 3 kids in the last 2 days.

It's a card game. You ever hear the saying about matching apples to apples or apples to oranges?

Cards are given to each player with words on each. The dealer puts down a main card which each player must "match". But they're things like names and places and things so the matches can get quite funny. Then the dealer picks his or her favorite (the cards were shuffled so its anon.) and thats the round winner.

I get obsessive, like really hung up one one or two different things at a time. I get this pet obsession sometimes and feel really awful about it afterwards. One time I ended up buying around 7 or 8 ferrets and three or four separate cages. Then I got really obsessive about the quality of food they were eating and did a ton of extensive research on it. I went to the petstore and about bought about 6 different kinds of high quality (expensive) foods for them plus a ton of accessories and even bought fleece at the fabric store to make my own hammocks and cage liners for them. That's not including stuff for the dog and cats. That's thousands of dollars right there. Right now, I only have one ferret and two cats and I feel bad because getting rid of all those pets really broke my kids hearts. Sometimes I really hate the fact that our episodes and behavior drag down the ones we care about the most, especially when it affects our children. Anyways, That was probably my most embarassing manic spending spree. Other things I obsess about and spend excessively on while manic include typical things like clothes and accessories.

i don't get the happy feel good mania. I tend to give things away when I am hypo. I get very self destructive when I am hypo. I've given away a laptop, a welder, lighting, 1200 dollars and so on.
