Well im starting my new med tonight called pristiq that the doc decided i needed. Im soo afraid of what could come of it especially with christmas coming and possibly me making a fool of myself in front of mine and my fiances family if my body reacts badly to it. And i definitly dont want to end up in the hospital! Anyways i just feel soo scared and hope this med will work and not do anything badly. I was going to take it this morning but i decided to wait till my fiance reads the information about it so he knows what to watch out for as im not allowed to read info on meds anymore because i get way to paranoid in doing so. (Me--> while knowing what possibly could go wrong with the med lol) Anyways please wish me luck.

I don't think that reading the med's PI sheet is always a bad idea -- in fact, I'm pretty sure it's always a good one. It's usually the internet that can be the best and yet the absolute worst place to look, especially if you're looking for a reason to not take a med.

I don't know, if I were as worried as you are now then perhaps it is worth waiting until the external stresses are over before starting a med. This way you don't have to worry about side effects during a sensitive period and you are also much less likely to confuse symptoms brought on by stress with symptoms brought up by the med. I think it's a shame when someone quits a med because they felt anxious or depressed on the first few days, or even when they feel nauseous during this period.

Yet, if I were you, I am also always anxious to get started on a new med, considering the duration in which it takes for them to begin working.

Here's hoping it all works out!!
Thanks for this!

Have you every gotten the error message that you've used over the allowed smileys in a single post? I have lol. Good luck with the new med, being cautious with meds is a good policy.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for the reply my general anxeity comes from when i was on a combo of meds last year that put mein the hospital because of halucinations and lots of craziness going through my head. While in the hospital i was put on two more meds that reacted very badly and taken off again. Ive been on neurontin for quite some time and it has helped but the doc decided i should also be on something else which is why im starting another med. Im just afraid the med will cause me to go through the reaction i had before and still am going through struggles from what it did. My therapist calls it ptsd from that traumatic expierence as it was truly horrifying and lasted months and left me in an unreal world. I cant describe it very well what i went through but its left me in a rough place when it comes to more and new meds. Sorry if this post seems to not make much sense..ive been manic today and not feeling like myself but also could be from the anxiety about taking this new med. I wish i wasnt so scared. I myslef cant read up on the meds but did post and asked about others expierence with it. But id rather not know the side affects listed so i dont imagine them. Ok i gotta go now..my brain just cant keep up with me. Sorry about the confusing post.
