I'm 21 years old, smart, athletic with big dreams, but very depressed. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. The oldest brother is currently at the University of Tennessee, younger brother got a full ride to Austin Peay University, and younger sister got a full ride to Carson Newman University. And here I am with no job, out of school, and completely overwhelmed. I lack organizational skills and confidence. I have to deal with depression, social anxiety, ADD, bi-polar, racing thoughts, obsessive thougths(OCD). It's just overwhelming. I want to be something special in life, but it's just so hard. I'm trying to get on the right cocktail of meds but it just takes so long. Hopefully something will work for me soon. I'm begginning therapy for the first time this month so that is a start.I don't want to look back at my lif 20 years from now and see that my internal problems held me back. I just want to be happy. It's just a rough time for me. God Bless

You should capitalize on the fact that you are athletic and engage in daily exercise. Exercize solo will provide relief from your depression and anxiety. Exercise in a group or playing a team sport will in addition help with your social anxiety: a win-win.

Hi,
I'm glad ur starting therapy soon....it has really helped me. There might be support groups in ur area. I was a total mess April-Oct 2013 but the right meds, therapy and support has really made a difference.

With a family background (with your sister and brother) there is every likelihood that
you may adjust with therapy and calm those inner disturbances that are really the things that are holding you back temporarily. Chances are that you have a very good intellect and that you may have some creative aspects in your personality, as well.

As you request, prayers will go up for wisdom to come to you quickly as you go with
therapy and that you will realize your importance as a human being and apply your
intelligence to self-improvement and educational values.

It's all there for you with the right help and attitude and blessings from above.

Take care.

I will pray for you and it is a good thing you are looking for help yourself and not denying the problem or refusing meds, i know when I was your age in the same situation, I didn't realize my problems could have been just about cured with meds, 30 years later I can say this and it i even new for me to admit that.
Thanks for this!
