Well not really I just needed a catchy title so people would look. lol Well the other day I was at my friends house and they are very sexual which I think is awesome well we got into a thing and I could not get things working downstairs no matter how hot it was and it was honestly awesome. I even got to get involved a little but once again nothing working properly. Could this be a side effect of the meds Im on or how do I determine if its just me? Please help this is getting old.

High probability of med involvement--ask your pharmacist for quickest info. Odds are much more in favor of drug-related cause. But how typical of us to assume its our fault, isn't it? Silly us,

At your age?!?! Of course it is either medications or a symptom of depression, but since you seem upbeat, must be medications.

it's the meds Clinte... tell pdoc this is No Bueno!!!

this is different but after lamictal i had no sex drive, and was angry and told my pdoc. she said, oh no we don't want that i want you to go ahead and stop that one immediately. i guess tapering down wasn't necessary with that one.

I think Hamster would agree with me, lol, you should not have to put up with certain side effects like this sort of thing. Sexual side effects are intolerable, imho! If you're trying to get sane or stay sane, a healthy sex life or human touch really helps that.

Of course there are monks and nuns who are awesome, but that's just totally different.

Speak up for yourselves to your pdocs. Tell em what time it is! Your opinions about your health and bodies are just as important as their opinion!

Wildchild, you're a fiery woman, I think you should talk to pdoc. Passion and sensuality are important for the happiness and contentment of a fiery woman (imho)!
Thanks for this!

I agree with BlueInanna, of course, but I am sorry to see you suffering from Tegretol, wildchild; I have not been on Tegretol myself but I have been offered it as an alternative to another drug precisely because that other drug was causing sexual side effects, and looking into Tegretol I did not find warnings that it may cause sexual side effects itself. But again we are all different and react to medications differently and you probably just did not draw a lucky card with your Tegretol.

I never can accept why people 'like' to talk about sex...I understand why they want to...

but!

whats the point?

it's sensitive enough ...and for the mentally ill?

it's even more personally inconvenient

humans are just stupid and clumsy naked and yeah it's a wonderful thing when it works out

...and clearly people have been f..king for along time now or we would not be here.

...but reproduction and pleasure are only recently independant of each other in the expanse of history...

back when "making love"....

back when that meant something!

screw sex!

I'm so sorry James... maybe it's my culture... I guess I think it can help people if we talk about it. I certainly don't mean to offend, you especially!

It took me until into my 30's to embrace my sexuality and be comfortable in my body. I was awkward for too long, biggest prude I knew. Sex is best in love, imho. And it's also a beautiful part of being human. Humans need each other. Wish we could go back to living in villages in nature.

Hmm we'll I just quit taking nadalol so maybe that it I guess I will find out lol never thought of that. I was on that for tremors, and on it my bp was always really low so thanks hankster. And monkey for me Sex is fun it's part of who I am and it's been far to long since I had the opportunity so when it came along I was dissappointed. But sorry to offend I guess my culture varies from yours.

Hey Clinte, this is def. a thing to talk to your p-doc about. The pharmacist can give you the possible side effects and drug interactions that could be causing this, but so can your p-doc and he can assess if its meds, a psych issue, evironmental or dietary issues, and make a plan to correct it.

By the end of my hospitalization, when I was able to focus and realized the gravity of my situation, this is one of the issues i had on my list of remaining concerns/questions. One of my greatest stress relievers/ mood enhancers is sexual activity/release. I could honestly not imagine myself in a world in which I could not be a sexual being.

I really feel for ya man, I don't know how you do it. Talk to your p-doc. Get this fixed. And to quote Talledega Nights "Get your balls back".
Keep on truckin my friend. (Man)-

Like Emerson said, "All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make, the better."

This applies to all aspects of life, even between the sheets.

Hey, now... NOT a prude (or religious or....)
But that's not the point...

Forgot to add to the chorus of: yup, look to the meds.
