Just to let you know I haven't been around because I'm in hospital for a few days.
To sort out my meds and withdrawals, and to have a break

Most nurses in SA (according the law of Ophelia) should really not be nurses... Which hospital you in? Hope they give you your Geoden soon enough

Hope you got your meds ! I'm glad you went, sometimes its a break that is needed and allows you time to get your meds just right .

I hope your meds are figured out soon. Maybe it's just the one shift that was confused?

I felt much better after going inpatient! Glad you have Internet access. We did. Keeping up on my blog really helped me.

Not having Internet access would MAKE me crazy, if I weren't already by the time I was sick enough to go inpatient. Hang in there Suga, you are not alone, and this is a rough time of year even under the best of circumstances. Stay in as long as you need to and let the meds and therapies do their job.

My one time hospitalization was horrible! I accidentally ODed on Xyrem and they made me withdraw cold turkey from Xanax, Lyrica, Baclofen, Xyrem... I was there for 4 nights involuntary stay and I went delirious even after a 800mg dose of Seroquel. They refused to give me anything except Lamictal. The only positive outcome was that I completely stopped with Xanax, Baclofen, Lyrica, and Xyrem. I no longer use any drugs that cause physical dependence. There was no internet, no way to shave, monitoring all over the rooms, non-ending CT... And nobody believed me when I said that I was NOT trying to kill myself...
I hope your experience is better!

I've been sleeping most of the day and only woke up for meals.
It does seem like a safe place, but I'm starting to get down.

Sleeping all day? Don't you have to go to any activities?

We have group therapy sessions - more like interactive lectures. I refuse to attend and my T is ok with that. I'm meant to get up for all the meals, but think I'll skip breakfast. I really need to just be knocked out.
Feeling a bit depressed at the moment and am confused if I am ready to leave or not

Stay as long as you feel you need to, just get well that's all that's important. Make sure to let them know if your still not ok because if your like me you'll continue to suffer for a month and go back anyway so make sure your ready.

You don't want to turn around and be back in 2 days.

I also need to be aware of my insurance though, as it costs about $400/day.
I need some sleep i think.
Waiting to see my T. The physio and pdoc have already been today

I appreciate your support

Don't leave until your docs find you are go and ready. It is very common for people to turn around and have to be readmitted because they left too quickly. That won't save you any money.

I know you don't want to go to groups, but I strongly encourage you to reconsider that. Sitting around in your room all day will NOT improve your depression; it will actually make you feel worse. You already know those groups aren't deeply interactive; they are more like lectures and skills groups. Getting out of your room, interacting with not only the other patients, but also with the group leaders is SO helpful, and some of that information you can learn is also really helpful. I think you may be shooting yourself in the foot by refusing those vital services. Psychiatric hospitalization is about SO much more than just getting meds adjusted, and right now not taking advantage of that is leaving you feeling still depressed. Think about it.
Thanks for this!

Thanks.
Just had a hectic T session and need to sleep.
I'm getting pretty depressed and out of it right now.
