My pdoc does think the shakes are from the withdrawals, but it's been too long now.
I take 25mg Seroquel in the AM which apparently makes me drowsy. It is prescribed off-label for insomnia at low dosages.

I'm just feeling a bit under the weather and sorry for myself today.
At least I get to see my T - the last visit for this year I assume

Hey Suga,

Wow 25mg makes you drowsy? I take 25mg for anxiety and agitation. I also take the slow release one 175mg. Sometimes that doesn't even kick in and make me tired lol!

I hope your session with your T goes well.... Hopefully it won't be too long until you see her again?

T app got moved to Friday lunch.
I take 250mg Seroquel at night too. Including 50mg Serdep, which is Zoloft.

Chemist hasn't sent my meds. I'm stressing...having to make do with the bits and pieces I still had over, which defeats the point of me having been in hospital!!!

Wow, I have been so out of it.....I thought I replied to your message.....they looked & it wasn't there.....guess I thought my response & never wrote it......seems like I've been pulled away here & there getting ready for Christmas & have absolutely NO focus.

Seroquel reacts differently to different people....it knocked me out & I never got over it......some don't have that kind of reaction at all.

It's definitely best to take it easy getting back into your daily schedule. I was never working when I was in & out of the hospital, but even getting back into life seemed almost impossible many of the times.

Hope your chemist gets your meds to your soon......its not good to have then then not.....I know it's not always easy making sure the prescriptions are filled within the right time....& it's important not to take too many so that they are gone before they can be refilled again....so in the future that will be a good goal.

Hope everything gets settled & you get back with your T. I had a bad last T...went in feeling rather good & then we talked about some really bad things & I fell apart.....whole week I couldn't get myself together. Trying to get craft projects done for Christmas also is stressing me a bit on top of that.

I have totally missed the Christmas thing this year.

I won't get my Zoloft and Seroquel before Monday at earliest (flip-they courier my meds to my work and I'll be on leave!!!!!) so Tuesday night was the last time I had my meds as prescribed. I have to use the courier pharmacy, else I have a 25% co-payment. Now I realize I'm going to have to bite the. Bullet once off.
Ok, now I'm stressing. And I was ok earlier. Why is this always so complicated?
I have warned my manager to expect me to be drowsy at times, yet this morning I was awake at about 5AM - definitely not normal for me.

I must say the hospital was a very positive experience for me. It is only a psychiatric hospital, and I guess works a bit different to a general hospital. All therapy was optional, except for daily sessions with your private T and pdoc. I won't think twice next time.

I'm glad the hospital was good for you. That's great!

You may have missed the crazy stress of shopping and baking but you didn't miss Christmas. It's really about peace and love and not presents and cookies anyway, so it's okay to do a non-materialist Christmas, I think. You are getting health for your gift and that's better than anything from a box.

Can I expect this drowsiness to abate? I have been having lunch time snoozes, which is not an option when I'm at work.

I sometimes really miss the hospital - the structure and the fact that we are all fighting similar battles.
I take Seroquel and have found it a nightmare to get used to. Was ok at 150mg but the doc started increasing it after my last 'episode' and eventually got to 300mg. The drowsiness took some getting used to but eventually eased off and I was able to work full time again. Then the latest episode happened....upped to 400mg and I didn't really notice the effects while in hospital because I was on so many other meds. But when I got home I thought somebody had knocked me out with a hammer whenever I tried to get out of bed. I asked if I could drop it back down but doc said NO! It's been 13 days since i came out of hospital and I can finally say that the sedative effects seem to be lessening and I am more able to function and dare I say....having a mood lift I say stick with it if you can and it will be a rocky road but once your body is used to it you might find a difference in your mood. Worth a shot?

I haven't had Seroquel in 3 or 4 days due to my script not being filled, but I'll go get again this afternoon.
I'm feeling well in myself.
Have been on only a mood stabilizer and Wellbutrin for a few days now.

I really really appreciate all your support and replies. You are my family!

Actually, seroquel kind or works backwards that way. The lower doses tend to cause the most sleepiness, and as the dose increases the sleepiness becomes less of an issue, so for sleep most docs will prescribe somewhere between 25-100mg, and to get the more antipsychotic properties they prescribe higher doses.

You really, really need to stay on top of your refills and be sure to get them filled before they run out, even if it means a trip to the pharmacy on your day off.

The hospital discharged me with too few meds, the med aid took too long to approve the new meds and the pharmacy takes a day to deliver (they are online online, so I can't physically collect my meds).

Any idea why I would be on 250mg Seroquel at night? Like your post says, at a higher dosage, it seems to control the psychotic issues more.
I truly don't believe I have been psychotic (apparently once I had depression with psychosis)

Seroquel does different things for different people. You don't have to have been actually psychotic for it to be helpful. My husband take it to help him with his racing and ruminating thoughts and it it really is helpful for him that way. He takes 400mg I believe.

Sorry, I misunderstood about your meds.

I texted a friend who wanted me to stay with her. I managed to all asleep. I'm or sure if the meds make me think about these thoughts more - Seroquel and Zoloft????
I am safe and made my T a promise I'd be ok during this festive season

[I]Hey Suga,

The Serequol at 25mg might be for sleep, I was prescribed that to begin with. I now take 175mg XR every night for sleep. It also acts as a soother for my racing thoughts, high anxiety and mania at night too.

How are you feeling now?

Well, I'm back. I survived about 3 weeks, then had some major life stressors.
I probably won't be here too long, but thought I'd keep you all informed.

The people here this time round are really not as approachable, so I'm doing a lot more sleeping

We'll be thinking of you. I, too, was prescribed Seroquel--for mania and sleep. Please report back when you can.

I'm getting injectable Geodon after breakfast and at night, along with Zoloft. The idea being that I really am just sleeping to unwind and for my thoughts to stop racing. I was a bit bored today, because I wasn't able to sleep that much.
I want to get out of hospital now
