At the coal mine, we are in the middle of a longwall move (a major undertaking requiring special care). Coporate sent its team of mechanics and electricians to aid in the quick completion of the move.

One of the mechanics was with us Monday and Tuesday. I had never met him before, but he was very nice and made sure to ask me how I was doing and say hello and goodbye on his way out for the night.

We got word today that he was killed yesterday in an accident at another mine's preparation plant. 32 years old...

I live with a friend, his fiance and her 7 year old daughter. He called me at work to tell me her ex husband was released from the drug/alcohol camp he was sent to in lieu of completing his sentence in the county prison.

He was to serve 3-6 years for the crimes, parole and probation violations he comitted. After just 9 months, he is back out on the streets and already called making threats and demands. What a ****ed up judicial system we have.

No we will have to deal with him again, as somehow he still has partial custody of the child. I despise this man with my whole being. He is the scum of the earth and devil incarnate if there ever was one.

I just hope and pray he never comes threatening violence while I'm around. I'm afraid I might have to take justice into my own hands...

Oh no! Why does all bad news come all at once. It is so sad about your co-worker.

Is there any way that your roommate can get started on a restraining order now? Any way to have the courts look at custody with the child? Surely if this person is already making threats before leaving prison there is something that can be done....
