On triggering a manic episode? I want to feel that good again. I thought Ive been ramping up to one but no luck so far. I know it may seem stupid but I havent had a hypo episode in months and it really sucks I miss feeling really really good. So I ask what can I do to trigger one? Ive tried listening to upbeat fast paced music, drinking lots of coffee, and just trying to keep positive but nothing works.

like I said I know its silly but I am tired of being stable. Maybe if I quit my meds for a few days that would help. IDK Just looking for some advice.

Being excited to something I'm looking forward to tends to trigger me in that direction. Be careful, though. You don't want to crash the other way afterward.

I don't know. For me it just comes suddenly. I don't go super manic usually, because I'm so mixed all the time.

Well I just pulled out of a hard mixed episode. I just want a little excitement not much just enough to last me a few days. I dont think thats to much to ask but Im on so many mood stabilizers I dont think it will be possible.

For me it's stress, new locations, excitement... but I wouldn't really recommend.

manic episodes are very cool...a real personal reality treat.

mania is unbelievable...

but also makes things believable!...

asking bipolar to have ideas?

maybe buddy?...and I say this with care and all that!

the way to trigger an episode?...

it will arrive when it's time

it's kinda just circumstance Clinte...

like I mean whats to say you aint already in one....an episode?

they aint always exciting but they are alive!

(that probly didn't help)

You're setting yourself up for some major depression and destabilization.

The items that I can think of that might lead you there would be stimulants and sleep deprivation -- and really, these are harmful for your brain. The pain is going to be all the worse after wards.

I have never experienced anything euphoric about a hypomania, so it's never a goal of mine and the flips don't lead me to anything too different. But I imagine the "coming down" from hypomania would be amongst the worst of hang overs.

Hypo and manic might not manifest as feeling good. Might be irritable too.

For all you know, the more you exacerbate your condition by triggering destabilization then the worst your episodes will be. You might try to trigger mania only to develop a very dysphoric kind. Imagine if you never had happy mania ever again, but you chose to worsen yourself in an attempt to feel better. What if you experienced more episodes that were only negative?

A lot of good reasons not to destabilize yourself.
