I was just thinking today, when was the last time I had fun? and I could not even remember. My life is pretty much a day to day struggle and has been for a long time. When is the last time you had fun and what did you do?

Ive been hanging out with my daughter today. Last night I had some pretty awesome sex. Took some DVDs out of the library and am looking forward to watching them. I've had some fun conversations with friends lately, too.

Last spring/summer when I was manic. I'm afraid of mania but when I'm depressed I miss it.

I love to laugh. I do that on a daily basis because of my boyfriend. That is the extent of my fun. For the most part my life feels very chaotic.

I am a firm believer in mind over matter. Yes chemicals obviously play a role in our depression but how much of a role is up to us. I think we all need to take a step back and put some positive reinforcements in. They go a long way. You mind can play tricks on you it can make you think your sick when your not. Lets take this for instance a girl at my old job had the flu and came to work. She was obviously sent home but all of a sudden my body started having these symptoms like I had the flu. I went to the doctor. I didnt have the flu. Its our minds they make us believe what it wants us to believe. It can cause many symptoms you just have to over power your mind learn what is real. I have been medication free now for months and everyone in my life says that its so great to have me back again. I am so thankful for finding my way. This may not be for everyone I just wanted to share.

Last night I had my kids stay home and had my three nephews over and my kids had a few friends over and we had a sleep over party. It always makes me happy to do something that will make others happy

I had fun a couple weeks ago, Nothing exciting. We just took kids miniature golfing and lazer tag. I like seeing my girls happy even though I struggle. Was a good day and miniature golf was pretty fun. I loved hearing them tell me how much fun they had. We don't have much money and can't take them out places a lot but its good.

I struggled with not having something I enjoyed for a very long time. I recently became a horse owner and have really enjoyed the experience. The jump for me was made in a manic phase, but in retrospect and through the usual bouts of depression, I have found this to be my saving grace.
I sat down (after the decision of course ![]() However, I do know the underlying feeling of depression regardless of having fun. I wish I had the answer man, but I really don't. But it sounds as though you have a similar healthy hobby in kayaking. Use it for your health, even if it feels like it's not working. Some days it will sink in others it won't, but if you don't try to experience fun, it will never just present itself. P.S. I have a yellow lab named Sadie. She is the most wonderful animal I have ever had the pleasure of owning in my life. Take time to try to see life through the eyes of your dog. Sometimes that helps me as well. |

I had loads of fun this past weekend.
My gf and I went on a getaway weekend to Harrisburg, PA. She surprised me with an oversized hotel room, equipped with a King sized bed, Jacuzzi, flat screen HDTV, gas fireplace, and great view. We went out to eat, went to visit with my parents, and most importantly, had quality alone time to celebrate Valentine's day.
