On the day I say one if my new meds - topomax- has been doing well preventing migraines I get a migraine. Precious little I can take since I'm on Coumadin. Hope and Tylenol and try to sleep . Maybe a hot shower if I can't sleep. I took benedryl which I get at the ER though not at such high a dose of course. I really don't want to go to the ER.

I'm sorry . Yes do the hot showers, also eat some food pretty high in sugar , it use to help lessen the pain when I got migraines yearsssss ago..

My mom taught me this: stand in a hot-hot-hot shower with the stream of water hitting the back of your neck. It does help!

Thanks. I ate a late dinner so I'm pretty full. I'm in a warm bed right now crossing my fingers. You never know when these will turn to vomiting. I think I may have caught it tonight. Light bothers me- nausea and aversion. But dark room and my tv show is ok.

Yes it would. The benedryl should've knocked me out but nope. I do feel better if I stay laying down.

Hot shower helps you? Wow! Heat would make my migraines worse and I'd probably vomit. I have an icepack that I can wrap around my head and over my eyes. Cold helps my migraines. Heat makes them worse. If it is tension though and not a migraine, heat is the best for me.
