Hey Blue ,

Thanks, I am pretty use to the ignorance of this small towns Doctors. The closest er besides that one is an hour away. The few times I have gone inpatient for my Bipolar its over 90 mins away and that is missing rush hour.

Yes I chose to live in the middle of no where. We were able to sell our place in florida with a huge mortgage and buy our place outright here, no mortgage. So ..... That part is wonderful and people here are generally very nice. Where I go for my Pdoc and T .. well they are amazing.

I think I am just tired of life and the complications of it all. I can't remember the last time I was pain free ...I know it's over 4 years ago ! ! There is no relief for me, I just have to suck it up and deal with it and the constant sucking up and dealing with it ... is getting very old and pointless.

I really wish I could take your pain away. You really should say something about how ER dr treated.

When I went to the hospital a couple weeks ago, b/c I needed to be admitted to the psych ward, they were actually nice to me. The nurse sat and talked to me for like 20 mins. They made me get into a gown though and it was too small. Then they did all these tests. Which really confused me, like why would they have to take blood, I'm just suicidal and need sleep. The dr finally rolled in around 12, after I had been there 3 hrs. They finally admitted me to the psych ward at 4 am. I think this was the best treatment I've had in the ER. I've had some really bad experiences too, so I understand where you're coming from.

They always treat you like s*** when you go in for pain. Like you're just a drug seeker. I only go when I can't walk. I just need a shot of dilaudid, and most of the time they won't give it to me. They just give me hydrocodone, which does nothing when you can't walk.

I hope your pain level is not too high today. It always sucks when it's over a 7.
Couldnt agree more about that. I've had to go to the ER and urgent care wayyy too many times for migraines. My sister, who is a nurse says they hate patients with migraines. Ohh excuse me, just because blood isnt coming out of my head doesnt need I dont need medical help. Its not like hospitals are fun! I got one so bad last month I could hardly move, literally.
I'm really sorry about your experience, Christina. I prolly woulda cussed the doctor out and/or made a malpractice lawsuit threat.

Yes, there are many, many god complex docs and I fully believe it's because people treat them like their word is law.

I can tell you for a fact that a large number of doctors are complete idiots. Most of them are very knowledgable in one area but that doesn't mean they know jack squat about anything else. That's why I really hate this whole Dr. Oz kick sweeping the nation. He may be a brilliant heart surgeon, but when it comes to everything else, he's blowing smoke and just stating opinions, not facts.

Working in healthcare has really opened my eyes to exactly how clueless many doctors are on many things: important things that could really mess up your health and body that people rely on them to know. It's frightening.

Hang in there, sis. Have hope that it will fade quickly. I still say you should report him for his comments, though. That was rather unprofessional.

DHX <~~~~ Yes name change is needed , PM all the mods !

I think some doctors "try" but have no idea how to treat a patient in a respectful way. Doctors do not scare me , they often piss me off , they may be book smart but have no common sense. I do not blindly follow directions from doctors just because they are Doctors Same as I wont blindly follow a mechanic telling me I need a new engine when I just need a spark plug. Doctors put there pants on the same way as I do, They are just human

Oh damn Dr Oz ... He's a foolish ***! If you take all his 125496 suppliments that will cure a cold , Bipolar, cancer and weight gain , you would never have room to eat food. He is an asshat! I also hope he cools it on the plastic surgery because his eyebrows are going to reach his hairline very soon and he is sorta looking like skelator .

Whoops can you tell I am in a mood today ?

I do plan on having a nice sit down talk with the Ceo of the hospital . Altho I kinda doubt he will find it pleasant.

Stupid doctors piss me off. For some reason, all of my doctors are female, not meant to be a sexist statement, they're just who I ended up with through referrals, etc. Even though my pdoc is 20 years younger than me, she is always caring and listens. We are lucky enough to have a psychiatric hospital that has an emergency room.
I have had to deal with the regular emergency room a few times, and I think the doctors seem to want to push you out the door and move on.
