Ever since lowering Zoloft and abilify, I've been really tired and a lot of times I feel like I'm going to pass out. Is this just a side effect of lowering dosages, or something else?

I doubt lowering the doses (which were already very low) would account for the symptoms you're describing; I would, however, consult your shrink about it. I'm on 30mg of abilify & have lowered my dose to 20mg in better times...no adverse effects. Any advice you'd receive here would be pure speculation so, again, talk to a pdoc.

My daughter is on the same thing, but has always stayed tired so I don't know.

I'd ask your pdoc if this could be a side effect, and also check in with your PCP to rule out something else going on; there are lots of reasons why you might feel faint.

I agree with ultramar--check in with your Primary. Lowering Zoloft and Abilify don't have the effects you mention, that I know of.

Abilify at a low dose is activating & zoloft was activating for me too - so maybe dropping them takes away that activation and leaves you tired / with less energy?

whatever this is, I feel so out of it. Almost passed out from walking up a flight of stairs, or even just getting up from sitting. Have a temp t appointment later today. I'm afraid to have coffe because my heart's been doing funny things.

This really does sound like a physical problem. I remember you mentioning some time ago feeling faint as well (not sure if I remember correctly). It's not necessarily anything serious at all, but I would really check in with your PCP.

Are you taking any vitamins? drink some gatoraid or pedialyte for the next 2 days or so. I'm thinking that it may be an ED thing. Did you talk to your temp T?

no, not taking any vitamins. It got a lot better for a while yesterday after I ate way too much, and it hasn't fully returned yet. I couldn't exercise because I was too gosh darned tired today. I tried to not eat breakfast and lunch today to make up for overeating yesterday, but I couldn't. I only skipped breakfast.

Yeah. he and I had a sui prevention powwow yesterday. He thinks I'm slipping into a depression. He might be right. Of course I could just be down because I feel tired all the time.

Have you gotten an appointment with your GP yet ? you should have basic blood work done to rule out thyroid, low iron, elevated or low blood sugar etc...

Your ED could also keep your blood sugars bouncing all over the place that could be part of the problem.

Good luck

Haven't talked to GP yet, but it seems to be getting better on its own. Now I have energy to do stuff, but no motivation.

This probably sounds stupid, but I feel a little better after eating something. It was just a piece of fruit, but still.

Maybe your sugar was a little low, maybe you were dehydrated?

Good luck on the tapering down of the meds, hope it works out well for you.
Thanks for this!

I am going through a similar thing. My issue is that I am always tired. My Zoloft dosage is being increased and a stimulant is being added
