Today marks exactly one year without any depression! It's the longest depression free period I've had in 17 years, which is awesome.

It's bittersweet though as it drives home much of my life has been stuck in depression. I guess there is hope though with the right meds.

Thanks.

I'm not sure I have any secrets though. I think it's a combination of the right medication and prioritising my mental health. One really little thing I started doing was making time to leave my office and go outside every day, listen to some music and enjoy the sun. I know that was good for my mood.

I lost my job a month ago, which made me (and everyone around me) worry about depression. But I've worked to look at it positively. I had to head off the 'it means they think I'm bad at my job, I'll never get another job etc' type thoughts, but I did that successfully and have decided it's their loss and a chance for me to explore something new and different!

Good for you!

It was a lost job that finally made me asses my life and head to rehab and get the mental healthcare I needed. I don't recommend that route for anyone, but it has gotten me to the point where I finally feel like I'm headed in the right direction for the first time since, probably, high school. Maybe it can work out for you too!

Congrats on your year! Three cheers for the rest being the same! (The lack of depression, not lack of job, haha)
Thanks for this!

This is great news! It's better to have a year free of depression now than none at all. No worries about the past, it's just great to know you've come so far.
