Never mind go outside, I can't even get myself into the shower (since thursday). It takes so much energy to get up off this chair or the couch. I was so "stuck" last night I didn't shut off the air conditioner and open the windows.
Hate this awful feeling of dread.

Are you on medication that is helping? I'd rather stay in isolation too so it's very difficult to do even the smallest things. Right now my carpets are in terrible need of a vacuum but I don't have the energy. Take one success at a time. The dishes, a shower, each one is a success. Good luck.

Okay, Jadedbutterfly. What's the plan for recovery now? Made an appointment with
your psychiatrist yet? Things are going to change as you make the effort.

I understand how you feel, but we've got to get the adrenalin going if we're going to
get out of the pit. Assign yourself one thing to do today: (best to make a call to
your psychiatrist for an appointment) and then act.

Lay some clean, fresh clothes on the bed and then make yourself get into the shower--a good, hot one; that will help you get into the mood for action.

If you feel you can't make that effort cut two lemons and squeeze them into about
4 or 5 ounces of water. Drink it; if you aren't better in 4 hours, repeat the process.
That will help clear some of the acid from your system and calm your dread.

Do some meditative reading after your feelings subside from the lemon thing. Then,
try again for the shower.

Best to take the shower first, though, then the lemon juice. Good feelings can follow;
it works for some of us.

You need to discuss the dread with your psychiatrist to start the rollover from
depression. Get that out and things should improve.

I'm thinking about you and know how you feel; I hope you can be your own doctor
for your treatment before you see your psychiatrist.

Take care and keep posting about the feelings; getting them out is helpful.

Sending caring vibes your way.
Thanks for this!

I completely understand how you are feeling. I have been having trouble getting up in the morning. It takes so much physical and emotional effort. Recently I have just wanted to lay in bed all day and avoid living my life. I do not feel the motivation or need to participate in activities. The simple activity of eating has become a problematic thing. I hate this feeling as well.

Okey dokey.... I shut the computer down awhile ago. Watched some t.v. and kept saying to myself "you cannot turn the computer on until you take a shower". It worked..
I even left for a bit... klonopin to the rescue... I realized, after my shower that I would need ciggs tomorrow better go across the street and just do it.
I took my little camera with me, and took some pics of assorted flowers in the courtyard which helped me to stop thinking about all the people outside and in their cars.
mood lifted a bit. See my T on Friday, seems so far away.

w00t! Well done

I find the little ultimatums and rewards to get basic things done to be the most effective thing for me. haha. I'm glad you had a shower and then ran a little errand

Thank you for your positive thoughts and ideas.... I cannot drink lemon water... but maybe the scent of one might be helpful?
I don't see my T till Friday, and she is out of the office till then.. But I am going to call and leave a message, give her a heads up.

I'm not sure where it came from... but making that deal with myself worked. Will have to try this with other things... like cleaning.

Very, very good effort, Jadedbutterfly.

Can you drink lime juice? Both are very alkaline which helps so much with distress for
calming.

Yes, making a deal with yourself is a great way to get things moving. That's what's
so important.

I'm looking forward to seeing how you are later in the day or tomorrow.

Keep in touch. Sending those good vibes your way.
Thanks for this!

I'm still way down. forced myself to wash my dishes because one of the apt managers is coming here tomorrow.
Yesterday afternoon was bad....so many sui intrusive thoughts that I dug out an old prescription for seroquel 50mg, took one and they faded away.
feel like my body is to heavy/weak to move. hate this... wishing for my next upswing to hurry up and save me from this.

I'm so sorry you are still down. Is there anyway you can force yourself outside? even for 15 min.

last week I tried to convince my husband to shave my head because my "bed head" was so bad. Can you split and rubber band your hair into tiny sections and try to do a section a day and when it's done braid that section?

I have long hair.. so breaking it in to sections sounds like a great idea! braiding makes sense... it will stop most of the tangles. Thank you
I went out into the world today (not for long.panic attack)... managed to wash my face ..brush teeth, and pulled my hair back.
